Cruising to Bermuda May 2014

The ferries are catamaran types, going up or down by weight. Mobility scooters sometimes have to use a put down ramp if weight is not right. Thius you could have a step up or down at times, but moderate. There are lines for the ferries at the Dockyard. . In Hamilton there are benches for waiting. Hamilton is shopping mostly, paved sidewalks. Ride over is 20 minutes, generally smooth and pretty. Vicki

Just booked on Norwegian Dawn next May 16 Boston-Bermuda. Interested how accessible the water bus from Dock Yard to Hamilton is for someone using a cane or walker.

 

The day I used it the boat did not have a roll on ramp. However the crew lifted my scooter onto the boat and they assisted me onto the ferry. They were exceptional ! I understand that this was a rare exception as the boat generally used has an accessible ramp.
