Money Exchange

You will be far better off getting the currency you need either in advance from your bank or from an ATM machine in the country you'll need the currency for. ATM machines will give the best rate. Getting the money in advance is the most convenient.

Exchange rates on board are usually not very favorable and sometimes they do not have a good amount of currency to exchange.

I agree. We bring as much currency as we think we are going to need. Since we will be doing the Trans Atlantic from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale next month we will bring Euros to buy small gifts during our travels and dollars for additional tipping on the ship. Al of our ship board expenses are put on a credit card. We always carry a second card just in case of an emergency. Happy travels
