going into the casino. Ginny cost me a whopping $1.00. I don't gamble except for when the tickets are free....

Before the action really got rolling....it's fun to just watch them sometimes...

Thanks for the pictures so far. Getting excited for my upcoming Sun cruise. Looking at your pictures and wishing I had taken more pictures of the ship the last and frist time I sailed on the Sun.

I'll have to do better on my upcoming cruise.:D

What I really want to know is, did you (or your wife, or anyone else you know) shop for emeralds in Cartagena, and if so, how are the prices?? I keep telling my DH we need to do this...we may never go back to Colombia!:)

And I really can't wait to hear your comparison of NCL and Carnival!! Especially your opinion of MDR...not that it really matters, just curious!

I am just going to start this review by saying it was the best cruise we've ever had. I will post pictures later today, but still in the process of downloading them.

We went to Cartegena, Columbia; Aruba, Curacao, St. Martin, and St. Thomas. I will go over what we did and the fanatstic couples we met and enjoyed our dinner, shows, and excursions with.

Just give me a little more time and I will get started. I have tons of pictures.

:D Isn't the Sun awesome??!! Is this your first time sailing her?

Sorry....didn't shop for emeralds even though Claudia's Tour takes you to the Emerald Museum and Store.....I was waiting to shop for something else for our anniversary....no secrets to be let out yet!

The wowiest factor on the ship....stained glass above the restaurant and the Stardust lounge

Weeeird! That's our room for the 12/11-12/22 cruise! Anything we need to know about the room? Is it near any loud multi purpose staff doors or anything? (We got stuck across the hall from one of these on a carnival ship and rarely got sleep bc the door was slamming shut allll night)

Very quiet room....could be a little loud if you are out on the balcony when they are having the deck parties...but inside the room it is quiet.....you'll like it.

The Sun is a great ship....loved the observation deck.....many good conversations with our group up there.....first time on the Sun! Would definitely go again....

That's how we felt after we cruised her in Feb. We came home and booked her again for this coming Feb. I can't wait!

Just a ship...no bells or whistles, just a fabulous cruise.

I forgot to mention that for our muster drill after the intense US Coast Guard inspection, the staff at each station crossed names off of the roster for each assigned station. They were really strict during the muster drill, more than I have ever seen in 5 years. It may have been because they had just had the Coast Guard inspection, but something to note.

2nd Sea Day - The highlight of this day was when Ginny (dw), Mike, and Donna were at the top of the stairs on deck 12 when I saw a uniformed officer walking up the stairs towards us. I just saw some stripes and his hat and said,"Hi Captain", and when he got to the top of the stairs, I noticed that his name badge said Captain Blomqvuest (don't know how to spell it). He stopped and talked to us for about 15 minutes but unfortunately I didn't have my camera...

ughhhh. He was very personable, and told us of crossing the Antartic and the conditions they encountered. He was a very professional and nice guy. He seemed genuinely concerned that we were having a good time.

Notice the Chris Jones sign in the window? This was the tour I organized with Claudia Vidal. Our first stop was at the old fort. Be careful, as the street vendors are tenacious. Just say NO and keep walking. They won't stop you and will leave you alone.
