Hello and HAPPY TO SEE YOU and Maria!!! :D You're gonna have a BLAST on your birthday cruise!!! --and I can't believe it's been so long since we cruised together!!! I remember that first cruise, when we met!!! ...Out of Baytown... The Coast Guard and helos and all the fuss!!! And not enough parking spaces!!! Now they're using Baytown officially for cruising!!! I may have to cruise from there for "old times sake!" Nana sends you and THANK YOU and (((HUGS))). She had a stroke a month ago, and lost partial sight in one eye. She takes each day as she's given one and enjoys it fully!!! :)

LambKnuckles Posted November 11, 2013 Author #56 Share Posted November 11, 2013 Thank you for taking the time to post such nice pictures. I am loving this review as I am sailing 1/14 on this ship. It is also very refreshing:) reading a review without a bunch of complaining:eek:Can't wait to see more:D THANK YOU!!! You know, for the bargain and value you get on a CARNIVAL cruise -- I can't see a reason to complain!! I may state opinion here and there -- but all in all the voyage was OUTSTANDING!!! CARNIVAL lets one cruise and get a value for your the expense!!! I know when I board, what my cost is, my tips will be, and budget how much extra I have for gambling and drinks and souvenirs!! This cruise, on board, I probably spent $200, plus the tips for both Nana and me! Nope, we didn't drink a lot, she's diabetic and I was with her all the time. And we didn't gamble in the casino at all! -- but we watched and talked to strangers and had fun there!!! I did bring home two bottles of liquor from the ships store. I brought home rum cakes and trinkets, from the gift shop, too! I'm sorry I'm so slow!! :o With Nana to take care of, and work, and even tonight and Wednesday night I have meetings... It's been tough!! But I know how I love to read other reviews... So I want to complete this!!!

LambKnuckles Posted November 12, 2013 Author #62 Share Posted November 12, 2013 TUESDAY MORNING... our second Sea Day... Again I woke in time for the sunrise!! I've learned to check the TV to see how windy it is outside. It's very convenient. Sixty-nine point five -- I think that's just about 50 mph... my hair got so tangled yesterday -- I think I'll wear a scarf, this morning!! And here is where we are... I wonder if I can strain my eyes and see Cuba??? Nope, I've tried in the past and with the curvature of the earth, and vision, etc... I've been told we just get close enough to see it -- it's just too far away!!! This is what the Bow Cam is showing on the TV -- the sunrise is just off to the portside a bit more... Let me open the curtains to see what's there... so let's head outside!! The sunrise is not spectacular, but you know, it's like everything in life, you have great times and low times and just regular, every-day times -- but they're all GOOD and as SPECIAL as you perceive them!! And just standing on the bow -- feeling the wind on my face -- and experiencing the sunrise was OUTSTANDING!!! Plus, the colors I saw -- the ones in through my eyes to my brain -- are always better than the one the camera captures. It's the emotion I felt standing there, the feeling I had, that colors my memory, and gave me a peaceful, fulfilled feeling that morning I was there. It's not quite ready to rise -- or maybe it has, but that cloud bank is blocking us from seeing it... I believe this is the end of the sun peeking in and out of the cloud bank... LambKnuckles Posted November 12, 2013 Author #63 Share Posted November 12, 2013 There's a group on this cruise, the CRAZIES, who meet and sit in a specific area of the Lido deck... and this is where we stopped for our morning coffee, and waited for the MDR Sea Day Brunch to open. (If you go in a group -- find an area, that you all can agree upon. And whenever you're just sitting, just reading, just napping, just smoking... this is where you'll be. It's good to have a place where other familiar faces will stop and chat and relax.) The Lido deck, mid-ship, at the beach pool has smoking on the port side (left), so this is where the CRAZIES stop and sit. Nana, being diabetic, does need to eat something, so let's go look at the buffets that are already open. Just something quick and small. Let's wander and see what's what this morning... I'm not thinking Oatmeal... I make mine a bit 'drier' than mush... But they do have it available... If I want to stand in line for about four minutes, I can have a custom made-to-order omelet... LambKnuckles Posted November 12, 2013 Author #64 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Now, it's just passed 8:30, let's take the aft elevators to the MDR on Deck 3 and have Brunch... I see there's already a line -- not too bad and they seat us pretty quickly. We wait about 4 or 5 minutes... but there are plenty of others to chat with, so the time really does go quickly. Because of the wheelchair, there are only a few convenient places to seat us. Each morning we get a table on the port side. It's easy to let Nana stay in her chair and still get in and out and not be a hindrance to foot traffic around us. There's a bread basket on each table, with butter, waiting for us as we sit. Here's the menu... what do we want?
LambKnuckles Posted November 12, 2013 Author #65 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Now question... Nana wants eggs benedict. And we order it with the ham to the side, so I can cut it easily for her. Nana is so impressed how the waiters just wander through, fully loaded with dishes or meals...
GoofyDog Posted November 12, 2013 #66 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Absolutely LOVE this ship! We cruised on her for the Transatlantic from Barcelona to Galveston! LambKnuckles Posted November 12, 2013 Author #67 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Absolutely LOVE this ship! We cruised on her for the Transatlantic from Barcelona to Galveston! Maybe someday I'll be back on her but I'll get my fill by boarding the Legend on Sunday!! 5 days to sailing! If you come back to peek and have a moment... tell me about a TA. Did you LOVE it??? Did you have a balcony? Is that necessary? Did you mind not hitting land for more than 2 days? I realized that's the longest I've ever been on Sea, without a port. How is that? How many days do you go without a port? How are the weather and waves when you out there, mid-Atlantic? I truly want to do this. And I will!!! Just want some insight! And yes... HAVE A BLAST on the Legend!!! And tell us all about it when you return!!
LambKnuckles Posted November 12, 2013 Author #68 Share Posted November 12, 2013 After Brunch... there's LOTS to do... in the FunTimes: Designer Watch Sale, trivia, Bean Bag Toss, Kickball, Design your own gold jewelry, Mini Golf Tourney, Diamond and Gemstone Seminar, Food and Wine pairing, Pumpkin carving (since it's Halloween cruise), Digital Scavenger Hunt, Game of Love (Marriage Game), BINGO, Quarterback toss, Tea Time, etc... What Nana decided we should do is wander around... So let's go: Here's the bow web cam. What we see on TV and at home. The bridge from Deck 10 -- Can you see the window in the floor, for the Captain to see down??? This is my "perch" when I stand in the wind and just experience the feeling of sailing!!! Deck 10, forward... and right outside our cabin window!!! Looking up from my perch...
LambKnuckles Posted November 12, 2013 Author #69 Share Posted November 12, 2013 We had been told, before the cruise, that Carnival didn't have Capt Morgan rum anymore... But they do and I was told they have no plans to drop the line... The video arcade: The birds in the art work in the stateroom hallways -- are these called passageways??? Looking out from aft, Deck
LambKnuckles Posted November 12, 2013 Author #70 Share Posted November 12, 2013 We met a familiar face while wandering!!! Lido Deck buffets are always busy when they are open!!!
