Not dressing up for formal nights

We're going on the Southern Caribbean 10 day on the Emerald in March and we're considering skipping out on the formal nights. Just not as into that as we used to be, and don't know if we want to go to all the trouble of packing all that gear.

We're not fans of the buffet for dinner. Can we dine in the Crown Grill or Sabatini on those nights if we're dressed in "smart casual" wear? Will we stand out like a couple of sore thumbs?

Yes. Their dress code on formal nights is "smart casual" although you'll see everything from semi-formal to casual.

Yes, smart casual is fine and what most wear.

The past January on Emerald, we *ended up at Crown Grill for dinner on formal night. DH was the only passenger there wearing a tux. :D

Most men were wearing dress pants and a golf type shirt or one with a collar.

* New friends we'd met in a lounge had reservations for four at Crown and one of the couples got way too much sun and didn't feel like going so the other couple talked us into going with them.

Gosh, all you as the OP wanted to know was if it's all to wear "smart casual" to Crown Grill or Sabatini's on Formal Nights.

The answer is YES. Smart Casual in fine!

Have a wonderful cruise on Emerald Princess! :)
