Problems with drink package?

There is a group of going on the Independence in February. Some have heard that if you have the drink package that the servers (in the pool area) take a lot longer to get your drink as opposed to those that don't have the package. And they heard there are long lines to get drinks at the bars. Anybody experience this? We were on the Allure last and did not get the package but we never notices any lines at the bars. Any input...good or bad would be appreciated.

We had absolutely no problem with servers or at the bar, then again we tip almost every round.

I've rarely if ever seen "long lines" at a bar on an RCCL ship.

There were an abundance of servers all around the Allure pools, no problem or complaints of gettig served with or with out package.

 

In fact the serving attendants were like swarms of bees....:eek:...everywhere

False rumors, enough said.

 

Speaking from 1st hand experience and have used the package several times last year.

 

Could you have to wait a minute or so to get a drink yes that's possible but your order a drink and hand your card afterwards, bartenders do not play favoritism on package or no package.

 

Similar for roaming bar waiters.

Have to disagree with SConnolly....Last July on Jewel the waiters in the schooner all but ignored us even though we were there almost every afternoon. The bartenders were great and never experienced a problem with them, just the waiters. In fact, at the lobby bar, where we bought the package [not in advance so we could use our large OBC, we have the RCI VISA:D] we got really good treatment and suggestions to try many drinks we would not have considered without the package.
