The viva vino package is not listed on any dailies that have been posted recently.

So after all the prior posts on this thread there hasn't been a definitive answer as to its existence at the present time.

Can anyone clarify this?

It was available on the Escape on the February 6th sailing. Prices started at $88 for 4 bottles. Purchased it a few minutes after boarding- a table was set up in Headliners.

I have just returned from the Epic. I can confirm that the Viva Vino package was available. The list of wines included seems to have improved somewhat. There are a few I’d like to try but in any case I know that I would be happy with that Rioja.

Whilst the Viva Vino list has improved, sadly the same cannot be said about the wines available by the glass. In fact there has been a significant diminution in the range and quality of the wines available as part of the Ultimate Beverage Package. Seems to me that this is the inevitable consequence of the current path upon which NCL has embarked; namely giving UBPs away as an incentive. If very few UBPs are now purchased, the need to make the wine inclusions attractive is surely greatly diminished.

The Matua Sauvignon Blanc has gone; as has the Hogue Gewurtztraminer; and the Gruner Veltliner; leaving no white wine that I like. Other than the German Riesling which was fine, but being a Spatlese it is of course pretty sweet. In any case, when requested it was seldom actually available.

The Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon has also gone. I tried all the Reds. The only one I could drink was the Estancia Pinot Noir and I now find that rather light most of the time. I would be willing to pay an upcharge per glass, or say $10 a day extra, for access to better wines. But they just are not available by the glass at all as things stand. Has the time come to introduce a Super Ultimate Beverage Package?

We purchased it on the Pearl last week. $88.00 for four bottles plus 18%.

If one had the UBP it would become a moot point unless you moved up to the higher priced packages. Not sure of per glass price or availability of better wines under the UBP.

I was originally was a believer in bringing you own and paying $15.00. Unless you are a "Two Buck Chuck" fan, don't really know if you are saving any money.

VIVA VINO

This package CAN NOT BE SELECTED PRE-CRUISE !

It is only available briefly upon boarding and maybe a day thereafter.

After boarding the ship inquire where the Viva Vino can be purchased - it is

frequently in the Main Atrium Registration Desk area and sometimes at

the pool deck on the mega ships there maybe more venues to purchase it.

The wine purchased can be made available in your stateroom or kept and

made available when dining in any of the restaurants. Want it at a bar let

the bartender know. You are issued a small paper receipt with your name

cabin number and the wine category selected. Show that paper receipt at

any restaurant or bar to have your bottle served.

NOT available for room service.

HOWEVER you can have all or some of the bottles available in your cabin

for drinking. Like your wine lightly chilled have your cabin steward or butler

furnish your cabin with a champagne ice bucket AND CORKSCREW !

There was a related liquor package for beer lovers the "Corks & Caps".

I don't have any information if that program is still available.

As noted by a poster earlier the UBP has pretty much replaced or reduced

interest in these packages but these packages maybe better suited for their

value to moderate to light drinkers ! As usual YMMV ! Cheers !
