I kept hoping for one of those free cruises people kept talking. Sigh.

On my first cruise (4 days), I got an email offer from an inside to an oceanview for $40 per cabin.

This time, I'm booked in a 4K (7 days). I just got a call offering an obstructed balcony for $280 per cabin. I turned that down and got offered a standard balcony for $200 per cabin.

Should I?

Today I went from a 4k to a balcony for $41.78. They charged me $141.78 and gave me $100 OBC. Call and see if they will do the same for you. Good Luck!

It wouldn't be worth it to me. Balconies are nice, but I don't use them much, and I don't miss them when I don't have them. I like the gigantic balconies that I can use up around the main pool area. The 4Ks are nice. We had no view, except a big lifeboat, but we had fresh air and some sunlight.

the balcony is awesome...for us anyways. we love it when we get one. never had one and said "darn, what a waste of $'s"

with that said, if they are calling just to upgrade, seems to me the prices will fall some more hopefully. If you are happy where you are, stay there and watch the prices. Maybe you'll get a better deal. Are you a gambler? A good deal is whatever price you are willing to accept and be happy with IMO.

Enjoy your cruise, whichever cabin you choose.
