Drinks on us

I have been told that I will receive this perk on my next month but I do not know much about it. How many can I order in a day? How often can I order? I don't wanna wait 45 min between drinks.

You can order 5 mins apart , you can only order in Casino from one of the Casino servers walking around , and you can drink as much as you want :)

I should say unless you are very drunk and they wont serve you , but there isnt a limit like on the cheers package

Are you asking about Carnivals Cheers program? Or about the casinos Drinks On Us Program?

You got two different answers. One for each different program.

For me, the casinos drink on us program was a big miss.

Even though I tipped a couple of bucks per drink, I had a hard time getting drinks.

There were times I'd have to chase them down. It wasn't a Vegas experience.

Edit to add, the free drinks are only available in the casino and when playing.

I'm surprised. It must vary ship to ship. I've had the Drinks On Us the last two Carnival cruises (both happened to be on the Valor) and found a one dollar tip per drink kept the servers very attentive. I even had a couple of different servers vying for my orders whenever I was in the casino.

We had this same problem on the Miracle last February. And yes, you have to be PLAYING to get the drink. And I think (but could be wrong) you could get a drink every 15 minutes (not 5) We were playing the slots. I remember after a few days getting kind of po'ed about it, so told DH to play minimum, get a drink, wait 15 minutes, play the minimum to order a drink, etc. :p:o I know it sounds silly, but when you gamble all the $ to get that perk and then you can't take advantage of it because you can't find a server, (because don't forget, you have to be PLAYING, so you can't just belly up to the bar!) it tends to put you in a mood! :( Just MHO!

I've found if you tip the server a buck for every free drink, they check on you about every five minutes.

This has also been my experience!

I have never gotten a clear answer whether or not the drink waiters in the casino get some kind of compensation for delivering these "free" drinks, so I didnt assume anything and tipped a buck each drink, and they were always checking on me.

Keep in mind....though, you want to keep a clear mind while gambling. One more LIIT, can make you throw all caution to the wind!:D

I've had the drinks card twice and I would say 15-30 minutes between drinks. I don't think there is a limit, but that is just the time it takes the servers to take the orders and get the drinks for everyone. Sometimes it is quicker, sometimes longer. It's not like sitting around a bar and ordering a drink when you want. You can ask for a server but will also take some time.

This seems to be whether you are paying for the drink or have the drinks on us card.

For those who have responded, how long did you have to wait between drinks?
\

I tried to order 2 drinks ( on shot and one drink ) at one time , and i was told i have to wait 5 min in between

I have had this card on every cruise

So typically what I do Is order a drink and when they drop off the one i put in my order for my other drink , and by the time the server walks around a little and goes to bar to get my drink its been 5 mins

This is where the $1 tipping comes in , I have never ever had to wait for drinks or servers... :)

The servers don't get an order, then go get it filled. They walk around and get maybe 10 orders before they go to the bar to get the drinks. Then after they get the drinks, they have to walk around and try to find the person that ordered the drink because they may have moved to a different slot machine.

One other thing, you can't just go to the casino bar and order a drink yourself. You have to order through the servers and you have to be playing.

cards waiting for us at the Casino Cage. Never have a problem getting a drink when playing the slots - at tables, if you don't find a server just ask the pit boss to call one over - they will.

However, here's a trick I have been using on our last couple of cruises - I call a waiter over, or one drops by to ask if I want a drink, order my drink and then pointing out my hubby, pass the waiter a $20 and say - "keep him happy!" -- works like a charm, hubby doesn't have a clue! It's actually fun to watch!

We also tip $1 to $2 per drink -

That is exactly the same experience my wife and I had the last cruise we received the card. Never had to wait, and most of the servers knew our names and card number very quickly. I don't remember ever having to even look for a server, seemed that they found us before we needed a drink

It makes one wonder at the disparity in the experience reported.
