Balcony guarantee??

Just curious what other's experiences have been like with a balcony guarantee room. Did you get stuck with an obstructed view room? Or did things turn out okay? Going from a guarantee to picking our own room is about $170 and was just wondering if it was worth it. Thanks!:)

We lucked out doing that last sept. We booked about a month out and it was just DH and me, so we didn't have to worry about being near girls room. We ended up with great balcony near aft stairs on our favorite deck, verandah.

I got an obstructed view... but for $$548 for 6 days I will take it... also it wasn't like my view was blocked that much...

Booking guarantee is like a box of chocolates--- you never know what you're gonna get ;).

A guarantee means you get what nobody else wants. Think of it like a bar at 2am. If you will be satisfied with the leftovers, then it is worth the gamble.

 

If not, choose your spouse and your room.:D

When we booked a GTY balcony for our honeymoon, we thought we'd end up with an obstructed view. We got an aft-extended view on the 6th deck (sandwiched between cabin decks). It was glorious!!

We were on that same cruise last february! :) do u know if you book a guarantee and get something you don't like if you can upgrade it to a regular balcony?

So we decided to kill two birds with one stone and book myself in a balcony gty and my husband in an 8c balcony. Now we'll both stay in whatever room is better lol. It only cost $40 more total than putting us both in the same gty room :p
