VOS - Ultimate drink package - not good value!

The coffee was quite weak. I ordered a small size double shot latte and it was actually pretty good. There is a package that has soft drinks, bottled water, juice and coffee in it (no alcohol) that was suit you as a non drinker. About $20 a day I think it was

Not interested in filter coffee, I'm a latte girl I don't even drink instant unless being polite. Call me a snob if you like but my coffee beans must be freshly ground and have real milk (not creamer). Lol! Will purchase a latte first to see if it's up to snuff ;)

Yes, it's a RCI package. Was available on my VOS cruise last month

I think it was called Royal Refreshment.

Haven't tried the alcoholic package...but the lack of XXXX on VOS for 14 nights was a bit scary...finally found where they kept it all on the 2nd last night:eek: The Casino Bar:D

Another thing to remember for your next cruise is to ask for the Australian Wine List...not widely offered, and not much 'top shelf', but somewhat cheaper.:D

We have purchased the ultimate package for our Voyager cruise at the end of this month. It's 14 days, with three ports of call. Even though we are not big drinkers normally, when we cruise, we like our cocktails and beer by the pool, drinks before and after dinner, wine with dinner, lattes, fresh squeezed OJ etc. With so many sea days we think it will be good value for us. It's the first time we have purchased a package. We paid AUD955.50 each back in January. It was AUD1037 the other day when I checked - saved $82 ea. Yay.:):)

As others have pointed out, you can try a drink, which normally you would not spend $$ on, in case you don't like it.

Guys we have also purchased the premium package for 14 night sail. Here is something interesting you may want to know ( taken straight from website)

Q: What wines are included in the all-inclusive beverage packages?

A: All wines by the glass up to a US$8 value* are included in the select package. All wines by the glass up to a US$12 value* are included in the Premium and Ultimate packages. Guests also receive 20% off bottles of wine with the Select, Premium and Ultimate package.

*$US$9 value for select and US$14 value for Premium/Ultimate in Europe, Sth America and Australian markets.

So we get $14us value for wines not $12us I wonder if that is the value for cocktails as well? I will email them now

The exact same drinks/cocktails are included in the same package wherever you are in the world, they just have a different 'pricing structure' for our market which means drinks include the cost of the 15% gratuity and in the case of Solstice(not sure about RCL?) a little premium on top of that (which makes the package all the more worthwhile out of Australia).

The best things about the package from my experience was convenience as you never had to sign for drinks, trying a greater variety of drinks as I wouldn't pay to try something new that I may not like and lastly those coffees, bottled waters and soft drinks. In a day you could accumulate $20 value easy without even going near the alcoholic stuff :D

The thing with the drinks package is that you will more than likely spend 'more' on your bill than what you normally would but at the same time you will get good value out of it with trying new things and the coffee's etc. It's win-win for the cruise line and the cruisers I say

I agree with that. If you are a beer only drinker it may be a little more difficult to justify but throw in a cocktail or two and a couple of single malt scotches and you are in the ballpark.
