Can couples with no kids still cruise on Disney?

Yes.

We've done 6 Disney cruises. We've taken the "kids" twice. The kids were 19, 25, & 26. Also took one of those cruises with hubby's, mom and sister and their respective hubbies (all adults).

DCL has adult-only areas on all their ships as well as at Castsway Cay. And recently have been implementing adult only excursion options.

No. Disney will not take money from anyone unless they have children.

Lol. I was wondering why such a thing was asked. I love your response!

Disney will, in fact, take money from anyone and anything. They have an entire department that only comes up with new ways to collect money. I told my DH yesterday while in the World that I am surprised that the roadways do not have toll booths in addition to parking fees.

I have seen many adults only on cruises and also I would say out of school holidays it' has far less kids fewer parents take school age children out of school, so adults only aim for a cruise during the time kids are at school, do think of Europe school holidays as well i.e. UK kids have summer far later than most of USA and go back in September.

I actually have wondered the same thing myself. I have always heard how nice it is, but I don't have young children and I didn't know if there would be many things for the adults to do.

Yes lots,

As they cater for kids they therefore understand Adults need their time as well.

When the children are in the clubs there is.

  • Adult dinning brunch and dinner Palo all ships, Remy new ships.
  • Spa.
  • Gym Adult only.
  • Movies.
  • Talks.
  • Art of entertaining, and art of Disney. Nature talks.
  • Mixology, booze tasting.
  • Adult only pool.
  • Night club district post 9pm adults only.
  • Adult only shore trips in selected ports.
  • Adult only beach at castaway cay.

I'm always amused by this question.

Disney is NOT just for children. I enjoy it more now that the kids are adults. Kids enjoy it more, too. There are adult things to do [both DCL and WDW].

I got to say it doesn't surprise me at all, (1) Disney is associated with young kids, films, videos, books snd parks, (2) other lines play on this and sell to their strengths of adult entertainment, Casinos, cigars, and booze, so many people think that 24/7 you get, it's a small world piped into your room on DCL until you go mad.

What about those with "alternative lifestyles?"

More an issue of fellow cruisers' attitudes. Never noticed it to be an issue, as long as one uses common sense.

What about those with "alternative lifestyles?"

Is there a point here? No one cares what anyone else does in his/her cabin. PDA in public areas is of questionable appropriateness for any couple.

As far as booking things, DCL defines a "couple" as any 2 people in things like couple's massage, spa villa for 2, couples rainforest pass, etc. A couple for the rainforest pass can be a mother/daughter, spouses, etc. Any 2 adults will fly with DCL.

I hope I am reading this correctly, so here goes!

Disney goes out of their way to especially welcome this community at the parks each year so on board you will have no problems. Decent people/passengers won't care about your alternative lifestyle either as long as it is not in their faces making a point of it sort of thing. Also adults have their own area on and off the ship at CC so you should be able to relax as an adult couple whatever orientation.

And to be honest I would rather have an "alternative" couple especially guys, as table mates than some of the couples I have sat beside in the past:D

I am tip toeing around this so hopefully I haven't offended!

My Husband and I had a wonderful time on the Fantasy two weeks ago. This was our third cruise on a Disney ship without kids and we just booked number four. On this trip, we booked Adult only excursions which we thoroughly enjoyed! That being said, we don't mind the children and we have found they are much more entertained and supervised on the disney ships.

It depends on what you mean b y alternative.

Gay? No problem with DCL but they can't control guests.

Nudist? Nope. There is no nude public anything allowed.

Other stuff that's practiced in the cabin? Just leave an extra big tip if you make a mess.

Polygamist? If you can keep from confusing the reservation agent, you should be good.

No offense taken. I should have been clearer...I'd prefer NOT to cruise with those that lead "alternative lifestyles".

DCL doesn't probe such details when booking guests. That said, we've not been disturbed by most of what we've seen on the ship...whether in adult or family areas. I've seen more that I considered inappropriate in public from heterosexual couples (go back to your room....or a couples massage area) than otherwise. I think most people are aware that there are a lot of kids present, even walking thru adult only areas.

You can request to be seated as "just our family" at dinner, and at breakfast and lunch you will be asked before sharing a table. Really the only time it can be an issue at a table is embarkation day. If the restaurant fills and there are only 2 of you, they can get a little pushy about requesting that you share a table. Still, you can say "NO."

My personal opinion is that there basically shouldn't be anything going on in public that would tell me whether you are next door neighbors vs. a couple. Private matters belong in private. My experience on DCL is that only rarely is there anything that should be private but is otherwise.

Considering that 10% of the population leads as you put it, an "alternate lifestyle," the chances are strong the some of your coworkers, neighbors, first responders, medical professionals, teachers, and gasp--even friends do, but you just don't realize it. If the thought is that troubling to you, you might be better off not cruising. We have met at least a few people who are gay on every cruise we've taken, and had three swinging couples on one as well--and it wasn't a swingers/nude/alternate lifestyle cruise. Other than the swingers, there was no open display of affection, and they weren't walking around chanting "We're here, we're queer" or giving any outward signs of their sexual orientation.
