Atlantis Questions-HELP PLEASE!!

My husband and I will be docked in Nassau from 7:00AM until midnight. We are in our mid-50's and fairly active, but not interested in water slides, etc. Our plans are to go to Atlantis late AM, do the casino, explore and return to the ship late afternoon/early evening.

We have the opportunity to book a room at Atlantis for $135 including taxes, but main thing we want to see in the aquariam which is $29 per person. Of course we would like to wander around the resort and view it.

What is your opinion on whether we should just pay $60 for the aquarium or spend the extra $75 for a room?

Thanks.

Yes, it's a great bargain! Travel Zoo had it in their "Top 20" deals. You call Atlantis at 1-800-285-2684 and the rate code is FTZ00. The rate is $99 plus tax and resort fee for two. It must be booked by 8/5 and it's only available from 8/21-9/30. Sun-Wed only.

I think we've decided to pass though. We'll just pay for the aquarium and wander around the resort.

That's what we were thinking. We would still like to walk around the resort. You don't have to have a bracelet for THAT do you?

You can walk around the casino, shopping area, Marina village and lobbies without a bracelet, but you must be a guest to walk around the outside of the property near the pools, slides and lagoons.

You entry fee for the DIGS ($29) allows access to the aquariums and indoor tubes only. NOT the outdoors.

Scubagirl,

Thanks for your reply. So there is only one admission for the DIGs and the Aquarium? And you cannot go outside the casino and shops, correct? (Sorry for the dumb q's, but have never really been in a "restricted" resort like Atlantis before.)

Does getting a room for the day get you a bracelet and access to the grounds? We are going to be there for almost 2 full days in September and I was definitely considering getting a room thinking that ALL the facilities come along with it... Do they????

There will be 13 of us total.... what is the best thing for us to do?

Yes...getting a wristband does get you access to all of the grounds. The room will only get you a max of 4 wristbands as long as you have 4 ppl per room. If only 2 ppl only 2 wristbands are given, 5 ppl you'd better book 2 rooms...etc

I'm also confused by Atlantis and the more I read, the more confused I am! We'll be there next April and would like to see the Digs and Aquariom areas. Are ALL the aquariums included in the $29 or are some of the Aquariums in the outside area? We won't be using the pools and water slides.

Also I saw a RCCL tour that takes a boat ride through the port and harbor area, then includes a guided tour of the Atlantis & the Digs. However, you must walk from the ferry dock to the Atlantis and they say it is a 10 minute walk. My mother will be with us and has a bad knee and could not do the walk. Is there any other form of transport available from the ferry? Or would we be better off to just do Atlantis and take a cab? Do the taxis drop you off at the door?

What to do, what to do....

Yes, taxis take you to the front door. We told our driver we needed a ride back. As he stated, there will be several taxis there when we were ready to returned.

IMHO, I would describe "The Dig" and the lagoons are somewhat combined. Some underground, some outhdoors, some visible from the lobby. It is unique, there for a little hard to explain. Click on www.atlantis.com to see a visual.
