PhxRain Posted April 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2014 I just got an email from my TA about a change in the ENTIRE itinerary for the 2014 Alaska & Hawaii sailings. Please go to you TA or Carnival directly to see what changes have been made so you can adjust your excursions if needed!
keiko618 Posted April 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2014 I just got an email from my TA about a change in the ENTIRE itinerary for the 2014 Alaska & Hawaii sailings. Please go to you TA or Carnival directly to see what changes have been made so you can adjust your excursions if needed! Anyone have a clue what would cause it not to be able to go full speed until dry dock repairs?? Looks like our little trip will be altered a bit, hopefully not a lot! sacnaillady Posted April 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2014 So far it looks the same to me. Anyone else?
DougieFresh1986 Posted April 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Wow my Hawaii cruise, times got shorten and the took away a day in Maui... Not sure if I'm cool with a 16 day cruise with only 5 port days ouch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Uncle Doug Posted April 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Looks like the May 13, 2014 cruise has dropped 2 ports, 1 of which we have booked a private excursion.
DougieFresh1986 Posted April 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 16, 2014 I really don't know how to react... Keep going as planned or cancel and figure out my options... My wife is not gonna be pleased... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
rhfish3 Posted April 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2014 No itinerary listed at all. Looks like they are updating it..if its not good i still have time to cancel my July trip Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
keiko618 Posted April 16, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Can you cancel and get refund (ES) if they changed the itinerary? Might trigger some price drops I'm hoping.
PhxRain Posted April 16, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted April 16, 2014 For us, our Juneau & Sitka days got switched and ALL the port times changed. Fortunately, I was able to call Harv & Marv & switch days for our whale watching tour with no problem. My TA is currently working on changing the time of the Ketchikan tour I booked through her. #deepbreath
SadieN Posted April 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Our October Hawai'i cruise hasn't changed.
Koiman1 Posted April 16, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 16, 2014 We lost Ketchikan in June. Only get three ports, don't care about Victoria as a port. We don't want to be on a slow broken ship. So good bye Carnival, hello NCL.
rhfish3 Posted April 16, 2014 #12 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Nope just got an email you can cancel within 3 weeks of your trip Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
cruzrdi Posted April 16, 2014 #13 Share Posted April 16, 2014 My email says they are dropping Ketchikan completely and adding time to Juneau and Victoria. $50pp onboard credit and 25% off next cruise. You can cancel and receive full refund.
riffatsea Posted April 16, 2014 #14 Share Posted April 16, 2014 "Drydock" is not scheduled until March 2015 so hard to believe they would wait that long to correct a propulsion problem!
sacnaillady Posted April 16, 2014 #15 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Well I went back on the web site and there has been a change. They deleted a port on my June Alaskan cruise. What is the matter with them? Another reason to not sail Carnival. The only reason I did this cruise is because it was a free cabin. Never again! I like the way you are thinking! I'm always up for a price drop! :)

rhfish3 Posted April 16, 2014 #18 Share Posted April 16, 2014 They told us in the email what their reasoning is. The ship is going slower and the timing to get to the ports ned to be adjusted. Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk

SoCalKJ Posted April 16, 2014 #22 Share Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) Hmmm....we didn't care much for Ketchikan last time...this could be advantageous for us........ ....I was just moanin' and groanin' about paying wayyy too much for my stateroom...LOL...could be a blessing in disguise to enjoy it a little more than I originally planned.....hmmmm... Koiman1 Posted April 16, 2014 #23 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Isn't this the same thing that the Pride is also currently going through. Makes you wonder both are Spirit class ships. I want to see Alaska not Canada Boo Carnival. An Alaska cruise is too much money to go and see Victoria. :(
Retired_to_Cruise Posted April 16, 2014 #24 Share Posted April 16, 2014 I have received no email yet, but I just noticed that the itinerary for May 13th has changed. Skagway has been dropped completely. Instead we will have a lineup of Sitka, Juneau, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan, and Victoria, BC. Will be interesting to see if we get an email and what the explanation is. Isn't the Miracle on its way to Hawaii right now?
nybumpkin Posted April 16, 2014 #25 Share Posted April 16, 2014 I haven't received an e-mail notification, but after reading this thread went to my booking and yes, we are skipping Ketchikan. I'm disappointed - I was looking at booking a fishing tour. On the bright side, we have extra time in Juneau, where I was debating what to do given limited port time. As for Victoria - we also have more time in port, so I have some more exploring as to what to do there. I've loved Canadian ports on the East Coast, so hopefully Victoria will be just as nice.:)
