Got off the Pride yesterday

Just off the Pride yesterday. Had a good trip. Weather was great, smoothest sailing I have ever experienced on the Pride and all in all very happy.

Food was good. Did not enjoy the pizza at all. Glory has the same pizza but it was much better. Casino seemed to pay out the most I've ever seen. Shows were as always good,,,,much better then our last cruise on the Glory. Comedy was good.

Not a fan of the cruise director or the assistant. Of course that is personal preference as we are all different.

We booked 5150 and did not like it. Our fault. I knew it was obstructed but forgot that the first 3 life boats were much larger. We were directly between two which we chose the the size of the boats was awful. We did not unpack and after we sailed we went to Guess Services and they were kind enough to relocate us to a non-obstructed balcony in 5225 and we loved the room.

We normally board 12ish everytime we have gone on the trip. We didn't board til 1:30pm. However our return was as it has always been when we have sailed the Pride. Hit the bay bridge at 6am, key bridge 7am and not to much longer docked. We checked our luggage due to my husbands knee. Bringing all our luggage down that ramp exiting the ship is a bit too much for him. We were in our car by 10 (we are platinum). Home shortly after as we only live in Middle River.

All is all good trip. Husband won Texas Holdem tournament $500 and came in 2nd on the slot tournament. We both did well in the casino and came home a little ahead.

Glad to hear that the propulsion problems have been fixed, we will be going in 13 days!!! Cant wait. Quick question - what did you do in Freeport? Glad that you had a great time:)

What a coincidence. Our last cruise was the Glory and our next (in 20 days! Woohoo!) is the Pride!

You said the shows are good. Were any must-sees, and are there any I won't regret missing?

Just like the OP, I recently sailed the Pride and just before that sailed on the Glory. I thought the shows were better on the Glory and I thought the pizza was so much better on the Pride. Totally opposite opinion from the OP. Just goes to show, everyone has a different opinion. Thanks for your review, OP, always great to hear from people that were on the Pride.

We were on the Pride in January, no propulsion issues and smooth sailing. We enjoyed the pizza and the shows. Food was all good and we will be back. Our next trip will be on the Glory so we will be able to make the same comparisons. I hope they have a crane machine with the packs of $100. That machine paid for more than half our trip !

Who was the cruise director? When we sailed on the Pride in September he was the best one we ever had and was hoping he would be there for are next cruise in August.

CD was Josh. Kirk was on vacation.

Freeport we just walked around right in the area off the ship.

Around the World and Vroom are always worth seeing. They also had a lady that sung and entertained,,,she was good.

Comedians were excellent.

The cheese on the pizza was as white as when he laid the chunks on there. Just barely melted. Only the first night was it actually cooked and good. Also a bit too much sauce and they don't get what "just a little sauce please" is.

We are on the Pride in a couple weeks and also have an obstructed view balcony. It looks like we are in between the 2nd and 3rd lifeboat from the front. Is it really that bad? Should we try to switch?

I was on that sailing. IMHO, the pizza was great. We attended the first comedy show, and had a blast. Big Daddy was awesome. Someine was kicked out for dumping beer on someone's lap. Josh, the CD was right there to clear up any problems. Arrived at port at 3 pm. Long line. We used FTTF, and cut right through the line. Disembarkment was a bit long, but the line did move pretty quickly. We had a balcony (handicapped room) and the room was amazing. Awesome service. Very beautiful, and clean ship. Never felt crowded.

I have room 5225 booked for July 6th, glad to hear you liked it. It's gonna be my first cruise.

That cabin isn't too bad. We've had cabins at that location on both Pride and Legend. The lifeboats are larger, but our main concern was the people going up and down the hall to Camp Carnival. Both our sailings were during school holidays so there were lots of kids! We picked a cabin farther back for our next cruise, on the other side of the elevators. It also has the advantage of the smaller lifeboats. I don't know if it will be any better but will give it a try.
