Does anyone know if I can bring a metal detector on the cruise to use on the beaches? We are going next week to the western Caribbean.

I don't see metal detectors in the list of prohibited items:

I had one of those years ago.

All I found was bottle caps and pull tabs.

What are people finding these days??

Check the local laws where you're going. Some places don't allow them or require you have a special permit to use them. (sounds weird to me too, but I know some places in the US where they are restricted.)

We have taken ours to Coco Cay without a problem. 27 cents was our haul. No problems taking it on the hip however as others stated check the laws in the country that you intend to use it in.
