lady_cruiser Posted May 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2014 I too have benefited from price drops mentioned here at Cruise Critic. But its a shame that I no longer feel comfortable coming here because of the self-righteousness, lecturing and unsympathetic responses from many of the users here. Don't know why you would feel uncomfortable? With ES, one has the right to a price drop or OBC up to 2 days prior to sailing on Carnival. That is why I always book ES with Carnival and once got $730 in OBC because of it. So much OBC I couldn't even spend it all (note to OP, if you find you can't spend it all, take out what you cant spend at the casino.......perfectly legal to do so). Congrats OP on the OBC!! :) Edited May 25, 2014 by Out to sea!

Don't worry about the freaks that work hard to convince us they know everything and the bullies that hide behind their IP address and a fake name. They are worthless and harmless; just don't feed them! Enjoy the rest of the good people her and all of the great information!

Smiling Cruiser Posted May 25, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 25, 2014 It's one of the many rates available when you book your cruise. This rate is available when you book your cruise more than 3 months before your sailing date. It guarantees you the lowest rate for your room on that sailing on your selected cruise ship. If the rate for your room drops after your purchase you can fill out a request form to be price matched to the lower price. This price match is available up to 2 days prior to sailing. Actually, it's available more than 3 months out on cruises 5 nights or less and 5 months out on cruises 6 nights or more. So don't expect to be able to get the ES rate 3 months out on a 7 night cruise. Also, to note since many do not seem to know what the ES rate is, while there are great benefits to the ES rate, there are also many restrictions. Make sure you know, understand, and can live with those restrictions before booking ES rate. Edited May 25, 2014 by Out to sea!
sjcruiser Posted May 25, 2014 #14 Share Posted May 25, 2014 Awesome!!! I was going to upgrade to an IS with walkway view today using the new sales rate (Florida, save and something), but when all was said and done I would have lost my $100 obc so I decided to stay put. May next time Ill have some luck during a new sale, or when the price drops, if it does.
