FTTF Happy Dance!

Just snagged a FTTF for our cruise on the freedom in 2 weeks! I am proof that refreshing your browser dozens of times a day everyday will eventually work.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get it for the other room in our party. We have no tender ports... I really got it because we have an infant and it's just so much easier getting the room setup when we first get onboard.

Does anyone know if those staying in the other state room with us will be able to board early with us? I know officially the answer is No but I have heard reports from people with FTTF or Platinum boarding being able to take others on with them. What is your experience with this?

Well I will say I appreciate your position and your honesty...but that comment doesn't really help me (and thanks for trying to rain on my happy dance. .lol)

I don't feel I am trying to jump anyone else in the line or get anything for me that I dont deserve...truth be told I am still going to try every day for the next 2 weeks to get FTTF in or other cabin. BUT if I can't...I would like my 5yr old daughter who is registered in another room to be able to board with her parents. I seriously doubt one 5 year old little girl is going to get in the way of your Platinum perks. Past that my reasons are my own and everyone's family situation is unique.

So back to my question... Has anyone with FTTF or platinum had any experience trying to get someone else to board with them? If you have tried did it work or not. Thanks.

We left out of miami and checking in we had FTTF boarding cards, which were behind wedding, diamonds, plats. Your friends would get a zone number based on when they checked in. In pt canaveral we were put with the diamonds and plats and were told to wait up until they were boarded.

So I guess my long answer to you is no. Lol

Look, i'm really not trying to get into an argument here and the intention of this thread was not to be about if you agree or not....while I am sure there are may Platinum and FTTF purchasers that agree with you, there are just a many (if not more) Platinum people on this board who have and do try exactly what I am asking..I have read MANY posts from Platinum people asking if they can sneak their co-cruisers into the platinum boarding lounge with them.

What I am asking is for people to share their experiences...Have you brought 1 or more people from a different cabin in with your FTTF boarding or not. If you don't agree with me, fine I can understand and even respect that...if you want to start your own thread to discuss the morality of it, I would be happy to discuss that over there. In THIS THREAD, I would like to hear from people who have tried it. That's all.

I understand that some ports do this differently than others (FTTF boarding card vs platinum lounge). Anyone with experience in Ft. Lauderdale as we are going on the Freedom?

Thanks!

FYI, this is going to rub lots of us the wrong way. I too have FTTF for my next cruise, I paid for it. If I saw a CC employee let your friends board with you, in front of me, and they had not purchased FTTF for THEIR cabin, I would complain. If every cabin that bought FTTF was allowed to let another party board with them, the perk would be pointless!! And as far as you telling someone to go start their own thread about the morality of your post, sorry, this is a public forum, once you post, you have no control of how people choose to respond. Be warned, your thread is not going to make you very many friends. Just saying.

I really don't understand all this hostility. I'm asking the same question that dozens of Platinum people have asked over the years, but they don't get flamed when they ask it.

I didn't ask "How can I sneak in with FTTF people without paying". I paid for it just like everyone else who was lucky to get it.

I didn't ask "How can I sneak 10 cabins worth of people in with me when I get FTTF". I have 1 person, ONE, in another cabin. A 5yr old child. I "prefer" she board with us. If she can't, then fine. But because the first person to reply was insulted at my question instead of being helpful or ignoring it, this entire thread will now spiral into un-helpful hostility.

I'm merely asking if anyone has tried to bring someone else on with them with FTTF (in Ft. lauderdale). Do they check each individual S&S card to ensure it has a FTTF sticker? If one extra child walks up with us for boarding when I give them our priority boarding card, how would they even know? Sure if I walked up with 8 extra people that would be outside the bounds of proper. I am not trying to sneak an entire other cabin in and if my first post made it seem like that, then I apologize.

Yes I do see your point, this is an open forum and everyone is free to answer how they feel, and perhaps this doesn't make me many friends...but I am surprised at how un-helpful some people can be. Everyone rushed to judge me and flame me...If you don't like my question, don't answer.

I'm hoping SOMEONE out there will ignore the tangent there and help me figure out how FTTF in Ft. Lauderdale works so I know if my daughter will be able to board with the rest of her family.

Thanks!

I have no experience myself, but I have read in these forums recently that some Platinums have been able to do this in the past, but it is no longer being tolerated by Carnival. I hope you are able to get FTTF for your other family members. I would suggest getting there early enough so they are in an early zone and are embarked soon after you. The wait shouldn't be too long.

From the way this thread is going, you may want to copy/paste it to your computer desktop so you can read it many times.

The way this thread is going, that bottle of wine might not make it to the cruise...I may need to open it now!

Whatever happens, I wish you a wonderful cruise, with or without the wine.

I see the next person coming up to respond, their hand is in the air, you're gonna get slapped:eek:

Congrats on getting FTTF. :)

As you can see from my signature, I love it.

If you booked a separate cabin for your 5 year old daughter, call Carnival and ask but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Good luck to you though.

If you booked separate cabins with you in one cabin and other parent with your daughter in the other, I think you'll have issues because it really is per cabin and you have adults in 2 separate cabins.

If you have your daughter booked with another relative or friend in the other cabin, move her to your cabin and she'll have no problem boarding with you.

At this point, to make any changes, I believe you'll have to call Carnival.

I don't see them allowing 2 cabins with adults in them on one FTTF no matter what the circumstances are.

Good luck and have a wonderful cruise!

Best answer of the day, call Carnival. In your situation your best move is to see if you can switch to have your 5yr old on your cabin.

FTTF has always been a sore subject for the long time cruisers. With good reason. Simply put if they set a precedence to allow 2 cabins to load on one FTTF then it would become an epidemic (see chair hogging).

I am betting that they will accommodate you in some fashion but do not think both cabins will be able to go to FTTF.

Best of luck and enjoy your Cruise!!

I've done FTTF the past three cruises and if your friends/family check in at the same time as you, I don't see them boarding more than 10-15 minutes after you. The main thing we love about FTTF is not having to schlep our carry on bags with us into the Lido for lunch, etc. until our room is ready. With FTTF, your room is ready when you board.

We did not cruise out of Ft Lauderdale, we cruised out of Port Canaveral and it was 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids in one cabin) and they checked all of our papers for all of us before being issued our FTTF stickers and allowing us to board. They even made a big deal out of it to my youngest telling him how "special" that sticker made him. So, I would definitelyly try to get your daughter booked into your room so there is no problem with her boarding with you under FTTF. Good luck.

If you don't get that second FTTF, why not wait with your friends to board. Maybe they'll check in early and get a good boarding zone number. Your room will still be ready with your FTTF purchase, and it takes all the stress out wondering if they'll let the 5YO slide :)

Happy cruising.

Good for you. Give them H*!!. I get so tired of being flamed for asking a simple question sometime.

I really doubt your friends could go on with you. When we checked in it had our names in a list and we were escorted to the front of the line. I'm guessing your 5 year old will not be on the list. Even if someone came on here and said "yes, no problem!" Chances of that happening again would be 50/50 at best. I assume the five year old will be fine with whomever they are bunking with if it doesn't work out.

When they checked you off the list what port was that? We had FTTF on the Breeze out of Miami and they're was no organization. We had a priority boarding card and literally just handed it to the lady at the boarding entrance and walked on. They didn't even count how many people we had. But that was miami. not sure how ft. Lauderdale does it.

It was miami, this January, the Liberty. When I told them we had FTTF, they took us to a person with a clipboard that had all the names of FTTF people on it. Then they had a person take us to the next available agent. I se what your saying about the boarding pass. (I'm thinking back...) I can't remember if we each had our own....

Don't waste your breath lol... We bought FTTF for the first time this cruise so we will see how it goes. I don't care if some D or P member has friends with them that are not D or P cruisers. I'm as guilty as anyone over being petty but I have slowly learned that there is a better way. If people want to get their panties in a wad, well, I will just stand back, chuckle and pray I don't make the same mistake in the future, which I probably will. At least from a moral standpoint I will have the high ground from which I can look down my snobby nose momentarily until I screw up again and do the same damn thing. :)
