jgmc Posted June 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2014 It seems that I saw somewhere that the Silver Shadow will be using tenders in Juneau. Does anyone know if this is so?
Stumblefoot Posted June 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2014 It's been 6-years since we've been there on SS, but we docked there on our Shadow voyage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rocchi Posted June 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2014 Last October the Shadow docked downtown within sight of the Red Dog Saloon.
yourSLCwoman Posted June 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) You can view the Juneau docking schedule at: http://www.traveljuneau.com/downloads/Revised%20Final%204-17-14.pdf We will be there on July 3 and, according to the schedule, will be docked at the Alaska Steamship Dock. A quick look through the full schedule shows that the Shadow is scheduled to anchor at Juneau on some dates. Rare Silver Spectre Posted June 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 2, 2014 Last October the Shadow docked downtown within sight of the Red Dog Saloon. As did we 18 months ago.
oregon50 Posted June 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 4, 2014 You can view the Juneau docking schedule at: http://www.traveljuneau.com/downloads/Revised%20Final%204-17-14.pdf Thanks for posting. Looks like when there are more than 4 ships in port, smaller vessels anchor. Unlucky for me that there are five on our day. Happy to know now than be surprised later. EagleRocker Posted June 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 4, 2014 We were in Juneau on the Shadow in May and we docked right in town, adjacent to the Mt. Roberts Tram. Very convenient.
Stumblefoot Posted June 5, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Unlucky for me that there are five on our day. Ugh! The sidewalks and stores will be overflowing. Sounds like a good day for an excursion! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
timetravelers Posted June 6, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 6, 2014 We've had one tender and six dock side positions in the last seven years. The tender was a surprise but it wasn't a problem. It doesn't take very long to get in to the dock, maybe 10 min max. Sent from my iPad using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app
