If this is NCL's latest and Greatest, why isn't it commanding a premium?

The market for cruises in Florida is saturated for this time of the year, hence price falls and one of the reasons Allure of the Seas will be in Europe this time next year and replaced with a smaller ship in port everglades, reducing the number of beds therefore increasing demand as supply will be more limited.

My wife and I are flying from England international business class (flat bed seats)and staying in a Haven suite on Getaway for less money than an identical suite would cost on the sister ship Breakaway in Europe without any flights. The actual suite was on fact over 2.5 times more expensive, clearly this shows there is room for more capacity in one market and less in another at that time of year.

We are looking at booking the Getaway Haven penthouse for Aug 2015 from miami and what we paid for a studio and mini suite on the epic in Europe in 2012 we can get a Haven suite for much less. Now to find cheap flights :)

You have a whole bunch of cheap transatlantic flights out of Ireland, we are going there on Sunday and staying for 3 nights in Dublin for a mini break before flying on to the USA, with the Air passenger Duty that has to be paid from the UK our flights ended up been about £700 less than had we flown from Manchester.

Your looking at hurricane season?

we always do one cruise end of Aug, early sept. the weather is usually hit or miss, but with caribbean itineraries, there always seems to be a 50 percent chance of rain anyhow. we can't pass up the prices and normally, ships will sail around bad weather or just alter itineraries. And if you are flexible and just want to have a good time, can't go wrong1

Yeah we have for once cheap flights usually its a lot dearer. I was just messing around there and priced indirect flights to Orlando/Miami coming in around 500 or less seems good value. If only we could cruise this year. Hopefully flights wont be to bad for next Aug.

Wanna hear cheap - I am paying $1600 for three of us in an aft-facing balcony cabin for Thanksgiving on the Epic. That is just insane. I dumped our suite because it was just crazy not to take this offer.

That is great price for Thanksgiving week.

We paid more than that, for 2 of us, a couple years back

I'm not kidding, Nora. The price had come down so much, it didn't make any sense at all for me to keep that suite (as much as I wanted to)! Edited - the last price drop was with the kids sail free. It's up over that now. Still cheap though!

That is a great price! We are going in a balcony on Aug 30th with 100obc, dinner for 2, and a bottle of wine for 1500 for two people, booked during bogo sale so we got the free sky cruise. But 1600 for that many people is crazy

We sailed Epic her first year at thanksgiving for $2100 for balcony. (me, dh and dd)

we are sailing on Getaway Oct for the same price.

Friends had suggested Oasis or Allure for $3400 oceanview balcony. (you can get an "interior balcony" for $3000. but I said no way - love NCL and love the price and this is a brand new ship!

The single supplement has also been greatly reduced or eliminated on a lot of categories on the Getaway for Aug/Sept. My original plan was to book a studio on the 9/20 sailing but yesterday I booked a balcony BD-GTY for less than a studio. And wouldn't you know, today the BX-GTY is $40 less. Talk about a price drop: On 8/7 the BX was $1358 for a solo and today 8/9 it's $619. Not bad for a solo balcony.
