debijaynes Posted September 16, 2014 #52 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Years ago when Regent owned the Paul Gauguin, we had our very first suite with a butler. As I went to handle some paperwork with the front desk, the diminutive 40ish butler Joaquim from Spain introduced himself to my wife. His last words to her were, "Let me know if there's anything I can do for you, anything at all (wink wink)." It was pretty funny...sort of. Needless to say, we made sure that Joaquim never again entered our suite, nor have we ever felt the need to have another butler on a Regent ship... I think he had a great sense of humor!!! I don't know how old you are but as I approach 60 I take those eye winks as a compliment! Debi
Travelcat2 Posted September 16, 2014 #53 Share Posted September 16, 2014 I believe he now works on NCL... Not sure why but there is something extremely funny about that (perhaps it is just my warped sense of humor) :D

JPR Posted September 16, 2014 #55 Share Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Debijaynes, When I first posted on CC years ago about Joaquim, others responded that he had been their butler and that the wife had experienced similar leering solicitude. Perhaps it was my wife being 5 feet as well as attractive and blonde; he is about 5-3 at most. We nicknamed him "Bonaparte" (though Napoleon actually wasn't quite that diminutive). Anyway, I'm sorry but I cannot help you; I do not know which ship he, er, services now... Edited September 16, 2014 by JPR
