Mariner OTS - any info?

Recommended Posts

We will be on Best of Japan (March 22)

How are the public areas with the crowd in Asia? Pools? Ice skating? Shows? Casino? Are they pretty crowded?

Is there trivia every day?

Pools were fine. I didn't go when ice skating was on. Shows filled up quick so get there early. Casino i found empty.

There was Bingo everyday

Thankfully, we are in the Royal Suite so will get good seating for the shows. I'm surprised that the casinos were empty! We love Bingo, so will check it out. Was there stuff like music trivia, movie trivia, etc?

If RCI thinks that adjusting to Asian market means they could lower their standard, they make a BIG mistake.

We Asians are spoiled and get used to being pampered at home. We have domestic servants to help with daily chores. We are chauferred driven to work in our private cars. Our children are taken care by their personal baby sitter and governess.

Where is this notion of 'you can offer lower standard to Asians' come from? Some Western superiority complex?

Adjusting to local market should be done by IMPROVING your service level.

By any chance do you know who was the Activity Manager on your sailing on Mariner?

2 weeks ago, while I am onboard, the Activity Manager is "Linda" from China.

She is bi-lingual, also acting as translator for Ken, the CD

Ken's nickman on Mariner is "Kentucky" the fried chicken.

Thank you very much.....to those people cruising on Mariner in a few weeks, check to see if Linda is still on board and let me know.

Activity Managers just like CD's have contracts (usually 4 months and then two months off).....so keep me posted.

That must be an interesting morning show....with Linda translating for the CD Ken.

Hope all going on Mariner have a G-R-E-A-T cruise!

... ... We are deciding between Phuket and Langkawi on Marina OTS, and would like to seek your opinion on which is the better destination?

Only you can decide for yourself.

See phuket dot com for Phuket.

And langkawi-info dot com for Langkawi.

Enjoy your cruise!

I can't seem to start a thread, but I would like to ask a question nonetheless. We are deciding between Phuket and Langkawi on Marina OTS, and would like to seek your opinion on which is the better destination?

I loved both places. Both gorgeous relaxing placed. Phuket more for shopping and Langkawi sight seeing.

Depends what your after and want to do
