Mariner OTS - any info?

Recommended Posts

Glad to hear you have a great cruise! Please share a review later ok?

Questions:

1. When do they do the parade?

2. How crowded was the embarkation?

Thank you.

We only saw the final parade of the Dreamworks characters, last night at 10pm goes for about 15min. My suggestion is get there few min early.

Embarkment and Disembarkment were both very very organised.

Embarkment you get a colour and when your coloured is called you can board the ship after going through immigration.

Disembarkment you go by tag number which you get on last sailing night. We were off ship, through immigration, collected baggage in 20min

Won't have time to do a review till I get back home on Monday week.

Emily, great to hear that you have a great cruise.

In a week we will be in Singapore and how's the weather?

Connie

Cool but humid. You'll be fine in shorts and shirts

Emily, did you see any bigger taxi / van waiting for cruisers at Langkawi port?

Indeed! There was vans and cars as you get off the ships. Then at the end of the pier there's a huge carpark with plenty more.

Are for prices and agree before getting in the car.

Our taxi driver was great, took us to great places but when we asked price he said 90, not thinking i agreed thinking wow so cheap then in the end my partner handed with 100 ringgit and he said not enough...he infact meant 90 US dollars which equated to 324 ringgit but he took 300 ringgit

Skycab is 35 ringgit return per adult. 2 viewing points

The skybridge was closed

At the bottom is Oriental Village, few shops nice to walk around

We went to an ATV place and that was 150 ringgit for 2ppl for 30-40min. Takes you through rubber plantation and rice fields

We went to Tanjung Rhu Beach, that was spectacular

My parents were in Langkawi on the Costa Victoria. Sounded like they didn't do much. Just took some ship's bus to some run-down looking shopping centre.

Looks like you guys did more.

Here was I video I made from my parent's camera.

Emski, How was the food on the trip?

Did you try Giovanni's?

Also what night was the formal night?

Thanks.

Hello

Sorry we didn't try Giovanni's

Windjammer food was average, changed every night. Didn't really like the food from the Jade section. They had live cooking every night of stir fry or noodle soup.

We ate at main dining room one night and that was yummo.

Formal night was 2nd night and 3rd last night (from memory). You didn't have to attend.

Very few reviews/discussions about Mariner OTS (compared to other ships).

For those who have been on the Mariner, I'd be grateful if you could share any info -anything- about her. Thank you.

Looking forward.

Here is a link to my review of the Mariner ...

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1013982

The first eight posts are a review of the eight days I was on the Mariner. The photographs were on Webshots. However, they are all gone now. So you have to go to post # 108 for a link to 156 of the photographs I took during the cruise.
