F we were to use Visa points for $250 OBC credit is that type of OBC the kind you can cash in at the casino for a small percentage? The point chart states for use with spa, excursions, gifts, bar, etc.

Thanks for anyone who has experience doing this

If you take any cash out of the casino you will be automatically charged 5% per transaction.

In 2012 I was able to get cash for my unused OBC from my Visa rewards at guest services with no fee. Not sure if that's changed though.

I believe they will let you do that on the last day of the cruise, but I'm not sure you can do it on other days.

You can only withdraw refundable OBC from Guest Services on the day prior to debarkation. Some ships will even specify what time of the day you can do this.

I just got off of Jewel and was able to get cash for the RCCL Visa OBC with no issues on the day before the cruise ending. I am not sure if you can take any out prior to that time and as far as I know there is no limit to the amount you get back as we had $900 left and cashed out. Just don't forget to get the cash on the last full day of your cruise as it will go back on you card and double points will be taken out of your points pool.

Ok so let me understand. If I request a cash out the day before we disembark I will receive cash from guest services. If I wait until the final morning they will just refund it back to my cc without me requesting them to do so? Plus points.

I only took out $350 OBC but I will take more if I know can get cash back.

Yes, people have reported being able to get cash back from Guest Services on the last night of the cruise. If you don't get cash back, any credit will go back to your credit card and you will lose double points because it's a credit from Royal.

The credit for the unused OBC will go back to whatever credit card you use at check in. If you use the RCL VISA card like others said DOUBLE points will come off.

However if you use any other type of credit card at check in the credit will go back minus any points IF that card is another rewards type of credit card.

These people are obviously not married to my wife! What is this concept of money left over that they speak of? On my 2011 Allure cruise, I had $250 OBC and the price dropped $300 when I had paid off early. I have $550 for that 7 day cruise. My wife just used that to buy extra pictures.

No matter how much OBC I have there is never any left.

I guess I am in the minority, we usually do have leftover OBC. We don't get pictures other than the one you can get with the C and A coupon. I have enough logo items to last me a lifetime:D

I pre book specialty restaurants and don't use the spa. We use MTD so tips are prepaid. We only spend it on cocktails during the day. Apparently we don't drinks enough.:p
