The dreaded flip flop sandal question

Recommended Posts

I'll be cruising RCI this winter and I love flip flop sandals (or thongs, whatever you like to call them). I was wondering ... is there anywhere on the ships or during the cruise period that flip flops are appropriate, like at the pool or on the beach? I have the cutest and most comfy set of flip flops from Riders and would die if I had to leave them home, especially since I bought my bathing suit to match them!!!

Jessi! I am a total flip flop addict!
I NEVER however wear them to the dining room although some do. I buy all kinds to match my swimwear. I take at least five pairs on a cruise at a minimum!
Dont worry, you will be in flip flop heaven!

Of course you can wear them! Anywhere except the dining room for dinner.

Enjoy your cruise!

I think if you're talking about flip flop in the most casual sense, then the pool or Lido buffet is fine. There happen to be some nice, strappy sandals that happen to be 'thongs' but don't classify themselves as 'flip flops'. I think these might be more suited for the dining room on informal nights.

They are totally appropiate by poolside. And I have a pair of black rhinestone thongs, that are thick soled...that I LOVE, and they look awesome with my capris and shorts. So I'll be wearing them to bingo, and other events like that. Have fun!

Well, they are quite appropriate for everything but dinner BUT, when you do something really stupid like I did, and wear brand new heels for your cruise two evenings in a row, you just might end up with blisters soooo bad you can only wear those NICE but comfy flip flops even to dinner. No one peeked under the table and told me to go change, so I didn't. LOL
