Breeze

Cruisin' Again 86

I'm one of those that really liked the Breeze I did a B2B in August & Sept. I've been on numerous cruises & even worked on a few Carnival ships in the dark ages! I'm not into stage shows anymore so can't really comment on that - but:

Loved Matt (CD) and his staff, had the best wait team (Rosanna was fabulous - if you have ATD ask for her), and definitely one of the best cabin steward (Gusty).

I also thought the food choices were very good and for the first time (during the solo 6 day portion of the B2B) I ate quite often on the Lido for dinner - I thought the food was surprisingly good there - the steaks were very good & I always found something I liked (alot).

Overall, I really enjoyed the Breeze and hope to go on her again soon.

Hope this was a one time problem as we have this room in December. How was the room otherwise???

The room is fine otherwise. Move now if you can. I'm serious. Don't say I didn't warn you. If the problem comes up while you are sailing, you will be pissed. Move now! I can't reiterate this enough!!!!!

We love the Breeze and have already been on her 3 times. My only complaint is the pools- the size for the size of the ship is ridiculous! And, the aft pool is not for adults only like most Carnival ships. Other than that, we love her and will cruise on her again and again!!:D

For the most part, a ship is a ship as far as I'm concerned. The similarities among them far, far outweigh the differences. Case in point, posters are discussing the decor, as if that could ever have an impact on your vacation experience. I did think the ship layout felt a little more "closed" with the design of the main pool area (in contrast to the ships that have the more tiered, "stadium" layout of the pool area).

Good

Red Frog Pub. Indoor/outdoor seating, good drinks, awesome servers.

The Lanai. Great concept, lots of seating. Love the hot tubs.

Cloud 9 Spa. My first time using Carnival's spa facilities. Very relaxing and the thalassotherapy pool is great.

Rosanna-ATD server. Seriously the best server I have ever had anywhere. If you're going on the Breeze soon and have ATD, ask for her.

Bad

The shows. Not bad I guess, but not great. Sorry, but I miss the old Welcome Aboard show and others. Really got me in the cruise mood.

Aft pool is not adults only. Again, really not bad, but could be surprising if you're expecting it to be adults only.

Ugly

Absolutely nothing! Not my favorite cruise, but the ship is beautiful and really has something for everyone.

Loads of choices for eating. I loved Guy's burgers. Blue Iguana for breakfast burrito. We also ate Cside BBQ for lunch one day. We did the Italian place for dinner one night. We used the serenity deck for tanning and just a couple flights down was the giant bucket to cool us off. Only negative for me was the piano bar guy was not good. I had Marty Gast previously, pretty difficult to top him imho. No good area to people watch either. We used to sit out in front of the casino and watch people parade up and down and nothing like that on this ship. I love this ship!

We took our 2nd 8 nighter on her, this year.

She is our new favorite.

Not sure how a PP said they prefer the stadium seating to the wide open Lido on Breeze.

While, I have never cruised with the stadium seating, it looks confining.

This ship is BEAUTIFUL.

Have a great cruise!!!!!:D:D

We loved the Breeze this past May. We had an extended Aft balcony 6472. The only ugly on the ship is the sewer smell in the Aft, trust me it's there. I see people say they didn't smell anything they must not of spent any time in the piano bar because by the 3rd day it smells. If you talked with people staying in the Aft area they all stated how bad it smelled.

Other then that the ship in my opinion is Carnivals best hands down.

Wouldn't think twice about sailing her again, we wouldn't stay in a Aft cabin though.

I just got off of the Breeze Sunday. She's a beautiful ship. I don't like larger ships, but, IMO, this ship was worth it. Plenty of food options - mostly free, a few pay. My only complaints - and they are small ones and won't keep me from cruising on the Breeze again - was the lack of entertainment. But, late in the week, we found that a lot of things just weren't published in the Fun times. So, I think that is up to the CD as to what is listed in the fun times. Our CD was Matt, he's very funny and energetic - I like him well enough, but I think he falls short on the business end of being a CD. We had some issues that we needed taken care of and guest service referred us to Matt, but we were never able to get a hold of him and guest service left him several messages and he never got back to us. So, between this and things not being listed in fun times is why I feel he lacks in the business part of his cd duties. But, Matt was leaving the day we did and Wee Jimmy was taking over. Also, the only other issue, with the Breeze, was (as someone else pointed out) main shows were not good. Lack of talent, lack of choreography, lack of creativity to the shows creators. So, if you're into shows, don't expect good ones. Shows don't "make" my cruise, but I was cruising with my Mother and she really enjoys the shows, so, that's why we kept going, lol.
