Live from Explorer's final round-trip out of New Jersey

It would be nice if they brought her back to Bayonne for a few months after dry dock so those of us who cruised her many times (15 for me) can see and enjoy the changes.

The headwaiter brings over three unfamiliar people, and they sit down. I get their story: they have just arrived.

 

They missed the ship in Bayonne and had to fly to Bermuda, spend the night in a hotel, and join us this morning.

 

Why?

 

Guess.

 

That's right.

 

They flew the morning of the cruise.

 

And encountered delays.

 

And missed the ship.

 

We all know the moral of the story.

At least their cruise story didn't involve the PVSA, unlike someone's aborted 1st cruise -- right Carol?!

Yes............though that was not my first cruise.

 

It WOULD have been our 4th. :)

Carol, having cruised the Explorer many times I noticed many new faces at the headwaiter position and some with an attitude. I had some issues with MTD management (headwaiters), but finally got it fixed on day 3 and got a complimentary bottle of wine (that's how mad I was) and had no problems after that. The Explorer always had a great staff, but there are many new faces and changes and IMO not for the better.

The good news is that THIS cruise we have a FANTASTIC headwaiter named Janet de Guzman, who is seeing that everything is exactly how we want it.

We had Janet as our head waiter in August. She is great.
