glennbtn Posted January 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2015 Hi All We are going on our first ever cruise in April on P&O's new Britannia. We have opted for freedom dining and wondered what the dress code here will be. The wife is not that keen on dressing right up so hoping it's more causal here. What would the dress code be in the buffet and at bars Thanks Glenn
davecttr Posted January 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2015 Britannia will have 2 evening (after 6pm) codes, evening casual and black tie. On average, expect to see 2 black tie and 5 evening casual evenings per 7 night cruise. On black tie evenings entry to some venues will require a DJ or dark suit for men. The rest of the venues will welcome evening casual although you can of course wear black tie. P&O have not yet published which venues will require black tie for entry but expect it to be the main dining rooms and maybe a cover charge restaurant and a bar or 2. that still leaves over half the venues available for evening casual with all the important entertainment venues included. IMO freedom dining is a good choice as you can eat when you want at a table of the size you want. On black tie nights just use the buffet or alternative dining option. You don't even need to tell anyone in the dining room that you won't be eating dinner there. the buffet has some theme nights, indian, chinese etc but still with an english option if you want. Try the Glasshouse, a bar that serves food. the small plates are excellent. then there is the Beach House. there is a cover charge but those steaks on hot lava rock... :D:D:D
BrianI Posted January 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2015 The dress code for the Freedom dining restaurant is the same as other main restaurants. Brian
