Cheers program receipts being used in casino

Hi everyone....I've heard stories of someone purchasing the Cheer's program and for every drink you get that amounts to $10, you save the receipt and take it to the casino, and they will give you half that in table credit...so for every $10 drink receipt you bring in, the casino will match it up to $5? Is there ANY truth to this? We will be on the Triumph March 23-28 out of Galveston and was wondering if any of you could share anything you might know regarding this subject...First, if it's true, and secondly, the specifics/rules behind it. Thanks all! I look forward to your comments.

This only applies to classic cocktails purchased... there are 6 of them I believe, and they are under 10.00.... you bring your receipt to the casino and they give you a 5.00 match play coupon you can use on even money bets at the tables... Now, you question about the cheers program.. the last time I sailed 7 months ago, you could do this with the cheers program or without it... However, I have seen posts from some, that says you can no longer due this with the cheers program, only with individual purchase.. so, unsure of what is the rules today..

I did on November on the Sensation. Bring the original receipt to the casino for any classic cocktails and get a $5 match play. Also at least on Sensation if you spent more than $10 on drinks in the comedy club they'd stamp the receipt as a match play too.

Thanks! Did you purchase the Cheer's Program for this to work? Or not? Thanks again!

The match play is based on the classic cocktails and doesn't matter if you have cheers or you are paying per drink. If you have cheers, make sure you get an original receipt, not a reprint. Some of the casino cashiers will only give you the match plays with an original receipt. I had a few bartenders get testy about that but I refused to sign until I got the original receipt. We mainly drink Mojitos and play blackjack so the match play makes the cheers package the best way for us to go.

We just cruised over New Year's and they still allowed this.

I had Cheers on the Freedom last month and one of the bartenders gave me someone else's receipt copy and told me to take it to the casino. Thought that was very odd considering her name, folio number and cabin were all printed on it. I guess he printed an extra copy when people without Cheers purchased one and handed them out to people with Cheers.

I had this problem on the Fantasy when trying to redeem my receipts at the casino cage. I made a stink and they relented. I also wrote about it in my post-cruise survey and let Carnival know that this is a ridiculous issue.

Do you know why the bartenders are giving out the reprint receipts? I didn't look at the receipts very closely and I had no idea my receipt was a copy until they told me at the cage. I definitely didn't expect any problems and still don't understand what the big deal is - I bought the drink and had a receipt.

This is a Carnival thing and should be honored on all ships. It has on every Carnival ship we've been on since the program started!

As for the reprints, they give you a receipt and a copy for you. Be sure to take the original. Sometimes with cheers, they don't automatically print 2.

Do you redeem at the cage or w/ a floor boss?

Is it just gambling credit or gambling credit w/ restrictions?

You take it to the cage, they in turn will give you a card that is a $5 match play for the table games. I've used them on the Blackjack and Roulette tables, and other than requiring a $5 match I don't know of any restrictions.

Have a great cruise, let us know what your experience is.

I just did it on the January 15 Elation cruise and I had the Cheers package. Sometimes you have to ask for it, because not all bartenders seem to know about it. I cashed one in from my husband's purchase no problem, but when I did it with a different cashier, he allowed it but said next time he'd have to cash it in himself.

Program was still on Valor last week. 4 drinks from the Punchliner Comedy Club were also eligible for match play coupon but had to be redeemed that day only. All the bartenders I had automatically gave me the receipt for any classic cocktails.
