Another HAL rescue!

Stephen Crome - Quebec Canada

On the Veendam a few hundred miles from Maui. We are stopping to assist the Coast Guard in a rescue operation. A fishing boat is apparently sinking! Hoping for the best for the people on that boat.

Update! It was a small plane that went down but the pilot is fine. A lifeboat was sent out and picked him up and brought him back onboard.

Awe don't worry about it, its a great story. Anytime one of our Hal ships or any other cruise liner does these kind of rescue it certainly is note worthy to repeat it. Good going, Veendam.

They just mentioned this on the NBC Nightly News although they did not mention the name of the ship, just that it was a Holland America ship.

ABC news just mentioned this as well. No mention of HAL or Veendam. Although there was a nice, quick shot of the ship. When a Disney ship recently rescued some people it was Disney, Disney, Disney.
