Great news! We haven't been on a Princess cruise since our Mexican cruise the end of 2013. I was really hoping they would change that requirement like other cruise lines have, but hadn't heard that they had. But when I was checking the Princess site today I didn't see anything saying that everyone in the cabin had to buy the package, so wanted to check.

Right. Once the package was launched, that was never a requirement.
