I recently contacted the QE2 London group concerning their efforts and received a reply that they were still working on bringing her home.

Great idea, but the timeline in the document lists a Dec 2013 opening date for the QE2 as a London hotel.

Perhaps her current owners now intend to run out the 10-year "no forward sale" clock and then send her to the breakers?

 

The same reports which claimed that she had been sold to a Chinese scrapper also claimed that London's bid to buy her was turned down. At some point selling her for less than her purchase price as got to counterbalance how much it costs to keep her "parked" for now over six years.
