Best review EVER - H, you made me laugh, you made me smile, you made me cry a bit there at the end even (btw - we're all registered organ donors here!) Most of all though, you made me look forward to our next cruise. Great job, little buddy.

Next cruise: Carnival Vista - July 2016

I'm an expert at making people both laugh...and cry. Especially my parents . Thanks so much for being registered organ donors! Enjoy your next trip on the "big boat!" :D

Just read this thread! Tell your Poppi to keep praying. I have been registered as an organ donor for years. My husband found out three years ago he needed a liver transplant. He got very sick, very fast. He was blessed to receive a donated liver 2 1/2 years ago. Today, he is healthy and the best daddy and pawpaw ever!! Good luck and I will keep him in my prayers.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Great news -- Poppi got his liver on 5/5/15!!! Wishing you and your husband continued health and happiness. We're so lucky to have been given a second chance at life with our loved ones.

Hooray for Poppi! Congrats!

And thank you, H, for these reviews. They'll be so super helpful when we take our A on the big boat.

Hi sbeth,

There is a "splash" area where the waterslides end (you can see it in my photo of H and his grandma). H used this area several times (and wasn't potty trained). There weren't any signs saying he couldn't and no one ever said anything to use. If he wasn't allowed to be in there, I had no idea! I, of course, never let him near any of the pools, because I knew those were off limits.

Thanks! We know to stay away from the pools but I can't seem to get a straight answer from Carnival about the splash pad on Sensation. It literally changes every time I talk to them on the phone! Our son is in the process of potty training and never (knock on wood) has unpredictable poop accidents so I'm thinking that given this and the 50/50 answers I'm getting from Carnival on the phone, maybe it will be okay to be in the splash pad just a bit. We regularly go to splash pads at home and have never had an issue. It does seem to be confusing to navigate this issue. Thanks for sharing your experience!

It's actually in their FAQ on the Carnival website. That's where I found it when I went looking for it. It says per the website that children need to be potty trained to use the splash pad though Sensation doesn't have one per se.

We're back from the sensation. We skipped the splash pad on the boat and obviously stayed out of the pool, but we had a great time at the Melia in Nassau - pool and beach and my son thought that the beach shower thingy was as fun as a splash pad so we were fine. If we take a longer cruise I will be sure to find a boat with a baby friendly area or finish potty training first! We didn't see many babies/toddlers on the sensation but we had a good time anyway.

Thanks for reporting back with your experience, sbeth! We'll have to try the Melia next time we're in Nassau!
