Ship time vs local time.

We are going on the star in two weeks and I wanted to know if the ship time matches the local time. I'm thinking of booking an excursion off the ship and need to know.

By the way, is it okay to mention an excursion company on here?

The people you book the excursion with will undoubtedly know the time situation. Their business depends on maximizing your excursion AND, getting you back to the ship in time.

Port Time is Almost always on LOCAL TIME (including DST).

Shore Excursions on time local to port.

If in your cabin turn on the TV to the Navigation Channel usually #2 and

catch the time updates. -OR- pick-up the telephone and get time information.

Ask questions at Guest Services (Registration/Pursers Desk) in Main Deck

Atrium Lobby (clocks on wall behind desk ?)

As previous poster noted check ships Daily Newspaper for details about time

changes. DST time changes in Mexico Sunday April 6 - turn clocks ahead

one hour (Cabo and Mazatlan are in Mountain Time Zone) when going further

to Puerto Vallarta (Central Time Zone) another time zone change another hour.

Final leg back to Los Angeles/Long Beach/San Pedro will turn clocks back

two hours to PDT.

Don't worry there is plenty of time to recover (2 days at sea) !

I have yet to be on a cruise where the ship time and local time are different. Every cruise we have been on have asked to change our clocks to match local time - even if it is for just a day. One cruise I was changing the time so often I wondered what time zone I was really in:eek::rolleyes:

I've been on a few, including a couple of NCL cruises, where at least in some ports ship's time did not match local time. While in most cases NCL does follow local time, there is no guarantee it will in every port on every cruise.

Ha, ha!! Reminds me of our first cruise several years ago to Alaska. Time changed several times and with the sun being up until who knows when, I never knew what time it was!
