adx74 Posted April 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Please advises if there are several cruise terminal in Southampton, or only one? If there are how can I find the info where the ship will be docked (MSC line). A good local guide for a tour would be a good recommendation for me. Any others tips are welcome. What is the best way to travel between port and tourist area? Some recommendations for tasting some local food? Thank you!
John Bull Posted April 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Southampton has four cruise terminals, Splendida normally berths at 101 berth (City cruise terminal) or 46 berth, (Ocean cruise terminal). The schedule here: http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/live_information/shipping_movements_and_cruise_ship_schedule/cruise_ship_schedule/ Both terminals are in easy walking distance (10 mins) of old-town Southampton. It's very easy to do a self-guided walk around the old town's walls & few historic buildings, but you can join a group walking tour (limited days) or ask if you can arrange a private walking tour with http://www.discoversouthampton.co.uk/visit/things-to-do/walks-and-tours See other pages on that website for other attractions, and match the old-town map with this sketch-map, which also shows the cruise terminals. http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/southampton_map.htm Here's a few threads about what to see & do in Southampton or outside the city: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1727159 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1876431 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2188280 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2169720 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2123270 JB :)

You can check the list posted above by JB Looks like you might be at the Ocean Terminal http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/live_information/shipping_movements_and_cruise_ship_schedule/cruise_ship_schedule/ If you are doing the ship's transfer they will get you to the right terminal
tartanexile81 Posted April 25, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2015 (edited) Which terminal is Regent Seven Seas? When we arrive via transfer from Heathrow, what happens next? I assume we'll wait somewhere until we can board Voyager??? It usually tells you on your cruise tickets from which terminal you're departing from. There are several in Southampton but they're al fairly close to the city centre If you're on a cruise transfer by coach from Heathrow you will be taken straight to the terminal and, like any port, there are areas where you can sit and wait till boarding starts OR if you've got more time get a taxi into Southampton and have a bit of lunch and a wander round. John Bull Posted April 26, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) Which terminal is Regent Seven Seas? When we arrive via transfer from Heathrow, what happens next? I assume we'll wait somewhere until we can board Voyager??? Voyager seems to be doing the rounds of the terminals, depending on the date, see the linked schedule http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/live...ship_schedule/ 46 is Ocean Terminal 101 is City Terminal 106 is Mayflower terminal (re-opened this week following a major winter re-vamp). 102 is the fruit terminal. :p With ships either side at 101 & 105/6 I have no idea where registration will be, hopefully your driver will on the day. ;) Just maybe the Mayflower re-vamp includes twin facilities?
