haply Posted June 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2015 Hello We are thinking of doing the Maya Key excursion Thanksgiving week. There will be four other cruise ships in town that day. Just wondering how crowded Maya Key could get. Do they limit the number of people on the island? We are traveling with a 4 & 8-year old so looking for kid-friendly excursions. Thank you in advance. Rare crewsweeper Posted June 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2015 5 ships in Roatan all on similar time schedules is going to be interesting. Although the 3 in Coxen Hole might be smaller ships (around 1000 passengers each). But, given that Maya Key is a ship excursion venue, it could well be somewhat crowded. But with the 2 larger ships up at Mahogany Bay, which takes larger numbers of cruisers, and with other similar excursion to West Bay and Big French Key, you might not find it any more crowded than if two ships were in. Not sure if Anthonys limits the number or not. Good place for children with the animals, beach and ocean floor can be a bit rocky.

Rare crewsweeper Posted June 18, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2015 Not sure where your meet up will be but the dock to MK is only a short walk from the pier area so it should be an easy accessible excursion for you.
Rare mitsugirly Posted July 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2015 Not sure where your meet up will be but the dock to MK is only a short walk from the pier area so it should be an easy accessible excursion for you. In Coxenhole, you literally get off the ship and take maybe 10 steps to get on the boat that takes you over. The boat docks right there at the same dock as the ship. :)
