deanman02 Posted June 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Must you pay to use the Lotus Spa pool, similar to access to The Sanctuary? Also, is it warm enough to use any of the pools this time of year on an Alaska cruise? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

JF - retired RRT Posted June 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Must you pay to use the Lotus Spa pool, similar to access to The Sanctuary? Shhhh!!! Best kept secret on Princess. These pools a not used by many because the "uninitiated" think it is part of the Sanctuary. It is not. Free, adults only and there will be times you are the only one there.:D:D

From the deckplan I've seen, it has steps with a good solid handrail going down into the water, so vinyl sandals and walking sticks to manage on the deck, something to secure the sticks to the handrail, and I shall be able to test/enjoy it for myself! Does anyone know which is the pool near a smoking area please? I was warned to check out the Cigar Bar to document photographically then change for the evening meal. If there's a pool that allows smoking near it, I'd better check it out just after the Cigar Bar BEFORE getting changed. As a known Asthmatic, cigarette smoke HAS, in the past, been a trigger for an attack. I will have multiple reliever puffers with me, and am well controlled under Dr's supervision, so merely being fussy! Crochetcruise

Crochetcruise  I don't recall which is the smoking pool, but will say overall, this is the least smokey ship I've ever been on. It may be a challenge for you to pass through the casino to get to your destinations onboard so check that deck plan to find ways to work around having to cruise through tje casino. The casino is pretty smokey and passing through it at times is hard to avoid.

I'll note to budget for washing and drying an outfit daily specifically to be worn in the Casino, then I freshen up and change for the PSE function, putting my laundry in the machine first, and bringing a kitchen timer with me-will have my phone as the main timer, but have not always heard the phone :( I've noted to do the Players Cigar Bar, the Casino and the pool near the smoking area in 1 photographic excursion. I'll ask a Staff Member about which pool I need, explaining that I'm taking photos to share with friends, but am asthmatic so will take medication before going into the areas, and if there's any indication of trouble, I'm outta there fast! I seem to be fairly stable at the moment, but excitement is notorious for setting off a stress-induced wheezing attack! I do always carry multiple reliever puffers, and have noted to check validity dates thoroughly. Steadily, the information is coming together, it's a bit under 73 weeks until I sail, and everything's planned, just need to get the budget dealt with!
