20pluscruises Posted March 23, 2016 #576 Share Posted March 23, 2016 It looks like you were included in the roll call listing because of this post you made a year ago. I guess the keeper of the list didn't realize that your post in the roll call thread wasn't actually about you being on that sailing. Whoops! :) Thanks! I feel better now. I was worried I had another stalker. ....and I was too lazy to go through the 52 pages. :o
PompeySailor Posted March 23, 2016 #577 Share Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) I just went and took a look and I do see my name on the the roll call AND my actual real first name. I did not sign up for the roll call, meet and greet and never even sailed on the Allure ship. It's a bit concerning. More concerning for me:eek: that I have another stalker!! You followed my profile to a completely unrelated topic to ask me about Blue Chip on Celebrity who I have never sailed with;) Then someone then checked out your profile as you had asked questions on a roll call you were not sailing on, and they added you. Tangents and off topics spring to mind;) Amazing what you can do these days, paper trail and all that:) Anyways, no harm done:D Happy Days! Daghis Posted March 23, 2016 Author #580 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Any one got any new concrete solid 100% news on *** is going on with New CR program? No news here, but I'm left to wonder what they may consider doing in this interim period. As I posted above, they're doing a one-off exception of a pseudo-rebate-payment for our sailings last week, but what the representative told me was that going forward, until the new program is released, the only post-cruise benefit would be the $-off/free cruise certificates that they've been doing for a while. I'm curious about how others feel about these certificates. From what I'm gathering here, it does seem like others are able to make use of them. My concern is that they may alienate the less frequent cruisers who get offered this great deal, only to see that they can't use it.
PompeySailor Posted March 23, 2016 #581 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Thanks Marc, W.r.t to the certificates, for us they are a waste of the glossy paper they are printed on. With us having a child in school, we are limited by dates we can cruise, and typically the dates they list are not premium weeks (Spring Break /Thanksgiving) I am sure work for some, and I am good with that. A middle ground needs to be found to reward loyalty regardless of how often loyal members sail I am just firing from the hip here, as an example Bill drops $100k on 2 cruises Jane drops $100k on 10 cruises You would think both Bill and Jane would be rewarded equally Now if Bill does not receive the same level of tier or rebate as Jane, then Bill needs to be smart and jump ship. It should reflect Win/Loss ratio rather than times cruised, this would be a fair system IMHO.

I am one of those cruisers who can only cruise at certain times of the year. I'd like to think that they will recognize that and equate that with someone who cruises more often with the same amount of $$ spent in the casino. Let's hope the best scenario. I hope it comes before my June cruise so I have some idea of what's going to be. Swiss
CasinoCruzGirl Posted March 24, 2016 #583 Share Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) I'm a bit baffled by Royals casino program. I was on the recent anthem 3 night cruise. I had approximately 3200 points over the course of 15 hours played on those 3 days. I booked through an outside host. I called to see what I would be entitled to. He said the crappiest room lol. My concern is I normally cruise ncl and usually get 3000 to 3500 points on a 7 day and get comp balconÿ cabins. I would have thought that 3000 on a 3 day would at least qualify for an oceanview. Granted the host never actually called royals casino to inquire but it all baffles me. And since I booked through an outside host Royal will not and cannot talk to me. The outside rep "owns" me. On ncl I deal direct with CAS. Edited March 24, 2016 by CasinoCruzGirl
Daghis Posted March 24, 2016 Author #584 Share Posted March 24, 2016 Your experience makes me think of something Graham just recently posted: Now if Bill does not receive the same level of tier or rebate as Jane, then Bill needs to be smart and jump ship. With the experience that Club Royale is offering versus what, for example, NCL's Casinos at Sea offers, I can't imagine why most people for whom the casino experience is important and who otherwise don't care which cruise line they sail on would choose Royal Caribbean. I hope that the new program greatly improves that situation for Club Royale.

Fortunately we were booked in a suite so we're able to eat at the Coastal Kitchen Which was better IMO I wanted to try something new that's why we sailed on the Anthem. Another problem I had with it was my favorite game is 4 card keno and although it's listed top of the all star poker games it's not available to play, why? Inhave no idea. I tried to get help but no one could help with it. Going forward I will stick to NCL which gives me much better cabin comps and also takes everything off my bill which is another thing Royal did not do for me. Ncl clearly gets my play if Royal is that much of a difference in what they give their players. Edited March 24, 2016 by CasinoCruzGirl
maryjaden Posted March 27, 2016 #586 Share Posted March 27, 2016 A little off Topic, but I just received an email offer from my TotalRewards Vegas for a cruise for 2. It's on NCL going to Alaska. Any body done this or have information? I am going to call on Monday. Given how "forthcoming" RCL has been on the new program, I thought I might look into this. I spoke with CR on Friday and still no news.

I spoke with CR on Friday and still no news. Caesars has been giving those away for a few years. Apollo owns Caesars and a part of NCL. The offers are good. They usually give you a inside cabin and you upgrade from there, unless you're big player. All your drinks are comped in the casino. The down side is, while they share the information about the play on board, you get no credit for it with Caesars. Then based on your play, NCL CAS(Casino's St Sea) players club will offer you comped cruises.

OTownNick Posted March 28, 2016 #589 Share Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) Just getting off Serenade. Max is host. Got a cruise cert for OV cabin. Lost quite a bit this time which sucked. But Max explained that there are 8 tiers of the certs. and mine was 2nd from top. All the way down to $50 off a cruise cert. He said now C&A numbers will be used to track players. No more CR numbers. This way, ANYONE who has played in casino will now get SOME sort of offer by email- including stuff as low as - $5 match play per person lol. Instead of the rebates that were calculated individually, everyone in each tier gets the same amount as OBC. It's a set amount. The unknowns are what tier levels we are in and what amounts the credits will be..Certs are still figured as as they have been, just everyone in the club tier levels gets the same benefits, just like M Life. Now my only question is, can apply the $750 value of this cert. Toward an existing cruise booked for 2017? somerandomidiot Posted March 28, 2016 #590 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Now my only question is, can apply the $750 value of this cert. Toward an existing cruise booked for 2017? I have the same question. It seems to say new bookings before 9/1 only but I'm not able to book another cruise before my next one in August. I want the $750 applied to my August, Dec or 2017 cruises also. This time constraint seems really unfair. If I was unemployed then 5 months would be enough time to plan for a cruise but if I was unemployed I would have no money to pay for it. They should really move the expiration dates on these certs out to at least a year, like they do with the certs you get from win - a-cruise bingo. Daghis Posted March 28, 2016 Author #592 Share Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) Can't hurt to ask, right ? I called up Club Royale today and did ask how fixed the expiration date on the certificate is. I was told it's pretty hard-and-fast. The representative with whom I spoke today was sympathetic that some people just don't cruise frequently enough to use these certificates, but had no other suggestions other than waiting to find out what the new program may offer. I pointed out to him that NCL's Casinos at Sea lets one book a comped cruise up to 18 months after one's previous sailing, and he was quite surprised about that. I did also ask the status of my previous cruise's benefit toward the payment of my next cruise in October. Apparently, they still haven't heard back from the casino regarding my level of play. They're going to write to the casino person onboard again with a second request for that information. Club Royale is looking pretty lackluster these days. :( Edited March 28, 2016 by Daghis
OTownNick Posted March 29, 2016 #593 Share Posted March 29, 2016 At this point it looks like the benefits are less than what we had previously. With the rebates gone it doesn't give incentive to keep playing in the casino

At least my next cruise is on the Anthem and I plan on spending less time in the casino and more time exploring the ship and all it has to offer. Always sad to see a good thing go and it looks like the CR program is going to be a shade of what it used to be..... Happy Cruising! Swiss

Also, she said I could only apply my cert as payment to a cruise sailing by 9/1/16. NOT a 2017 sailing. So I have a lot of switching and juggling of existing rebates around to use all my current rebates/certs. It's too confusing so I won't explain how I need to switch and swap rebates/payments between 3 differnt cruises lol
Daghis Posted March 30, 2016 Author #596 Share Posted March 30, 2016 I just received a promotional e-mail from Club Royale! Amazing! This one includes the offer of a complimentary oceanview stateroom on one of 14 different 3/4/5-night cruises, a complimentary interior stateroom on one 6-night cruise, or "If these dates don't work for you, just trade in your offer for the amount of $750 and apply it to any future sailing date." The fine print is a bit confusing because it says "The Offer Value (as indicated at $750) may be applied towards the cost of a higher value stateroom on a Qualifying Sailing but otherwise shall have no cash value and cannot be applied towards non-Qualifying Sailings." That means that it must be used on one of the listed sailings. Well, regardless, "Offer applies only to NEW individual bookings" and "Offer must be booked by 5/9/2016 and the booked cruise must sail by no later than 6/30/2016." By the way, the email offer I got that offerred 30% off and a $250 casino bonus was basically whatever the going rate was for anyone with a $250 discount. CR said if I want to book a new cruise, they would give either the CR rate or the offer, whichever is better. Most likely the email offer would be better for a 3/4 night cruise only. CruisinHarvey Posted March 30, 2016 #598 Share Posted March 30, 2016 I've been watching this thread for a while. We're Casino's at Sea members with NCL and considering RCI. But, from what I'm seeing lately, once you're established as player, are a lot of their offers for 3/4/5 days? We never take cruises that short. We're not huge players but all of our offers from CAS are for 7 day cruises or more, at least an inside room comped, then we upgrade.
maryjaden Posted March 30, 2016 #599 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Marc, I received the same offer except mine was for an interior room or $500 off. I called and tried to get the $500 applied to my Nov. Cruise (figured it wouldn't hurt to ask). No luck. But they were firm on the booking by May 9 and sailing by June. We're not huge players but all of our offers from CAS are for 7 day cruises or more, at least an inside room comped, then we upgrade. We're in a bit of a transition period with Club Royale. It's not clear what the new program will offer players, so I cannot suggest how it might compare to Casinos at Sea going forward. In the past, I would definitely say that Casinos at Sea had a superior program with better offers and, if nothing else, a clearer set of perks to members based on their tier. Club Royale's offers had been mysterious, leading us to have this thread to share what we've received so others can see whether they may qualify for those offers. Club Royale has said that their new program will be tiered, and will be more similar to land-based casino programs. However, we don't know what it will look like yet, and Royal Caribbean has been trying to roll this program out for over a year now, so I've become quite skeptical of its value. Time will tell, I suppose. Bottom line, if you want to try Royal Caribbean, do so for the ships and onboard activities and amenities, not for the casino program, which is in flux right now anyway. Royal Caribbean offers a fantastic vacation, which is a key reason why many of us stick with Club Royale despite its flaws.
