Westerdam Sailing Tomorrow (June 27th)?

There would be no reason why the Westerdam would not be sailing her normal itinerary. The Westerdam had nothing to do with the float plane accident.

As for the company that the float plane accident was from -- doubt if people will consider that tour right now. Plus they may not be operating until the investigation is over.

Go and enjoy your cruise -- Alaska is so beautiful.

In light of the terrible tragedy in Ketchikan yesterday, does anyone have any insight or thoughts as to whether the Westerdam will be sailing it's normal voyage tomorrow, Saturday June 27th?

There is no reason for it not to. The unfortunate accident was not related to anything that would affect the safety of the ship itself.

Most of the 2,600 passengers are in Seattle now to go on their cruise. The cost to HAL would be over $25 million, plus the disappointment of the passengers that will be on the cruise.

The disappointment would be irrelevant if the ship was needed for say a search and rescue, investigation, etc... If a few people have a vacation up-ended because of tragedy that is what insurance is for (among other things)

However as others have said the ship is in no way DIRECTLY and specifically connected to the incident nor was it where the incident took place so the schedule will carry on. I imagine there won't even be a delayed arrival in Seattle as they are skipping Victoria other than service call and usually don't build itineraries assuming top speed the whole time.
