A PEV suite disembarking perk coming soon

Recommended Posts

Actually, that is not correct since you do not have to go through TSA when disembarking a ship. Global Entry is currently only designed to be used at airports that have the necessary kiosks. There are currently no Global Entry kiosks within any of the cruise port terminals.

They don't have the machines, they just expedite the clearance process.

those that have (CBP) GLOBAL ENTRY cards get front of the line privileges.

If one person has a GLOBAL Entry membership they may take the persons that would be on the same customs declaration form to the front of the line with them.

Actually, that is not correct, whoever ( I did with my GF) that use the Global Entry line MUST have their Global Entry card if any doesn't has the card, the terminal employee will send you to the regular line regardless.

Has anyone used the suite disembarkation program at terminal 18 lately? If so were you happy with it.

I also wonder if anyone has used Global Entery/Nexus line there? If so was it well marked and separate from the main line for the masses? Did the staff working there know about the program and how it works or did they jam you into the normal customs line?

Thanks for the input fellow cruisers.

I posted the following on another thread with a similar agenda of suite perks.

We sailed the Oasis of the seas (August 1, 2015) in one of the new grand suites 14730 (did it, once, not again, It was okay and glad we tried this cabin, but back to regular GS or CL.

The day before we disembarked their was a letter in our cabin, that if we wanted escorted off the ship thru customs by the CL attendants we had to pick a time 8:30am or 9:00 am.

We selected 8:30 and had to be in Suite lounge by 8;25am. they would only approve a "limited" number.

We turned in our form and their was a message on our phone that evening to be ready for the 8:30 am time.

We were in the lounge by 8:15 (continental breakfast served) and at 8:25am we were all gathered up, I am guessing about 20 families and the Conceirnages had an elevator key and the elevators openend on the 17th. floor they were set for express to promenade and we got in and we told to wait by the car on the Promenade.

When we gathered we were all lead by those waiting to leave off the ship, thru the building and down the escalators or elevators--- your choice. We did luggage valet so we were in the front of the line waiting for those to claim their luggage.

Now came two security guards and we were once again lead in front of all those people waiting in line and placed first in line behind the area to go thru customs.

We went to the next available customs agent, and were quickly out the door into a cab...to the airport thru TSA security and sitting at the gate with coffee in hand by 9:00am.

It was great.

However, some of our party ( got left behind when they went looking for their luggage and we had already left, and they had to wait the long line because their was no one their to escort them).

We got alot of dirty looks from those waiting in line as we walked by them.

Great PerK.

Next year Allure, plan on booking same process, luggage valet, and walk off with guides.

We had red tags last week and it worked wonderfully in Galveston! We were not out of our room early enough to be escorted by Nadja so just went on our own. A porter asked us if we needed help and we said yes. When he saw our luggage tags he kept saying we had priority. He took us to the front of a huge line and said, "Red tags, I have red tags here." We were through customs in just a couple of minutes. I think it is a great suite perk!

Actually, that is not correct since you do not have to go through TSA when disembarking a ship. Global Entry is currently only designed to be used at airports that have the necessary kiosks. There are currently no Global Entry kiosks within any of the cruise port terminals.

Global Entry (GE) is a trusted traveler CBP program, not a TSA program. Having GE does give you access to TSA Pre-check so many may think it is a TSA program.

Cruise Terminals with CBP are transitioning to a priority line if you hold a Global Entry CARD. The GE Kiosk are not currently in the cruise terminals but you must have GE card in hand to use the priority line.

Thank you for the detailed information! I started another thread looking for this exact information. I am surprised the concierge did not go back and get the others. We will be some that will need to retrieve our luggage and would not want to miss out on that time saving perk!!

We were able to get to the front of the line with just our red tag and a porter. We were running late so didn't walk out with our concierge but as soon as the porter saw our tags he went in front of everyone, including other porters and said we had priority because of the red tags so you would probably be fine even if you lose the group, if you know to check on it. :)

Great! Thank you!! I am reassured enough that unless there is a major delay we should be ok getting to the airport. Now on to the fun stuff!!
