notes4theheart Posted July 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a "take a book, leave a book" section in the library. It helps to know what to pack!! :D Thanks!! Jennifer
CruiserBruce Posted July 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Yes, there generally is. However, it seems to be shrinking as so many people have tablets today.
vinodoc Posted July 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2015 After each cruise, we donate our guidebooks. Figure someone can use them and less to bring back. Kevin
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 17, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2015 We do bring our own books and take them back home with us. But sometimes we finish them early and do check out the section where you can drop off a book and pick up one. It has gone downhill on the last several ships that we have been on. Very few books to choose from.
notes4theheart Posted July 17, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Thanks for your time!! I'm not at all picky about what I have to read, I just like a book for the plane there and a book for the route home. I always brought one and just exchanged it on the Ryndam. Looks like that will work on the Eurodam as well.
GradUT Posted July 19, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 19, 2015 We just got off the Eurodam and there definitely is a section of "leave a book, take a book" in the library. There were 2 shelves of books with a total of about 40 - 50 books and about 20 - 25% were not in English as there are a lot of Europeans aboard. There wasn't anything on the shelves that I liked, but if you aren't picky, there are plenty of available titles.
MekesMom Posted July 21, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2015 I always take my kindle just in case but I didn't need it because there was enough turnover on the shared shelf. I visited at least once a day to separate the non-English language books and on the final day they were finally outnumbered by an overflowing English shelf. sunsetbeachgal Posted July 21, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Yes, there's a take it, leave it section. On our cruise in June there were actually a decent number of books, however since there were a good number of European guests some of the books were In other languages. But enough for me.
