Hey everyone! I'm tsking a September cruise to the bahamas and we're dropping in nassau. Has anyone been to the Atlantis Waterpark or done the carnival excursion where you get lunch and the water park and get to walk around to see the water animals?

I'm wondering for the price if it's worth it... it does seem like a lot of fun. Please let me know! Thanks in advance :)

We loved Atlantis, but booked it on a different cruise line. If you want to save some money, book a room at the Comfort Suites next door to Atlantis. You don't ever have to go into the room if you don't want but you'll get full access to all of Atlantis including the water park. You can take a taxi to the hotel and back. If your traveling with several people you'll save quite a bit.

You can buy wristbands on the casino floor for Atlantis. It's cheaper. I would not recommend eating at Atlantis...go to a restaurant outside of there...

I did the Atlantis thing 2 times. You will love the waterpark!! It is the best!

I do recommend renting a locker for your valuables.. I think it was $20 for the day. I have seen theft (from the employees) first hand.

We have been there twice.

The first time we rented a room at Comfort Suites as it was offering a special. We were given 4 wristbands to get to Atlantis where we stayed for around 6 hours and never got into the room :) We did rent a locker and found that useful.

The second time we stayed at Atlantis for a week. Everything was expensive but the poolside eateries are affordable, costing around $10 per meal that comes with a drink and fries. Highly recommend.

Now we are thinking to go again with NCL 3 weeks later. But there are no specials offered by Comfort Suites. Perhaps we would buy a day pass for Melia.

Sorry everyone for not replying back. I Been super busy working.

So... I should Google the comfort suites in Atlantis and I will find the website to get a estimate on the price? Or maybe I should call and ask about thr rates and getting into Atlantis. Was it hard getting off the ship and getting a taxi to thr comfort suites then getting to the water park of atlantis?

I have heard about theft in nassau so I will def look into the lockers. Hopefully there not sold out but even if they are... I could store things in the hotel room.

Any other helpful info about nassau or about the Atlantis place? The youtube videos of the place look amazing.

Taxis are easy at the port and Atlantis is across the street from Comfort Suites.

The only other piece of advice I can give on Atlantis is make sure you do the entire lazy river. There are actually places where you go up, in your tube, on a conveyor so you can continue going down again. It's the best lazy river I've ever experienced.

I was checking the Comfort Suites page. Wouldn't it say something about passes to Atlantis on there, or have it as a package or something? Also, our ship departs before official check-in time, would they still let you show up and get your passes if you aren't planning to use the room?

Are you at the correct Comfort Suites website? It mentions the Access to Atlantis on the first screen,

Yeah, different website, I used the choicehotels.com site. Right hotel, just no Atlantis info on it. Interesting though that when I plug my dates in that website, it brings up the other website, and no availability, where when I started on the other site, it gave lots of room choices.

I had the same issue is Dan it said no availability maybe it's because it's too far out even though it should be fine? I guess I will do some googling on this hotel to see if I could find it or maybe I'll just find the number and call but do you guys agree that it's cheaper to call the hotel and book a room for my cruise? How much did you pay for the room and at least two people to get to Atlantis?

I think this is a great tip...we can get the Comfort Inn for $175 and divided by 3...that would be less than $60 each to go to Atlantis. Now do I understand that correctly we get into the waterpark and slides, etc.? That would be super.

The ship has packages to Atlantis and has chairs, etc....but specifically says waterpark is not included and that price is $72 pp.

I await your input. Thanks

If this includes all the taxes, surcharges, VAT and mandatory fee/gratuities as well as the fee for 3rd person in the room, they this is a great rate. These fees can add significantly to your room rate.

The package from Atlantis for $72 is for the BEACH and Aquarium only. It does not include pools, lagoons or waterpark.

Comfort Suites includes the waterpark and pools.

Thanks Scubagirl for posting the info....I only looked at the base rate for 3...then went forward and looked at the taxes and fees.....

Also thanks for clarifying about ships excursions mean what the fine print says...does not include waterpark. Thanks again.

The carnival excursion page for the Atlantis says it includes a bus ride to Atlantis, passes to get into the aquarium and passes fkr the Waterpark and a meal fkr 189.99. This seems like the good way to go right?

I did this 3 years ago on the Sensation. I thought it was a bit expensive, but I used my discover card which I had travel points on it, so it ended up being free.

However you choose to go about getting your tickets, you will have an amazing time at the water park! Enjoy!

Any ideas about how much the taxi ride would be for 5 plus a toddler? And about what food costs. We figured we would buy directly because of our 5th adult. Checking into the room only saved us about $15pp so that may not be worth the hassle with a 2 year old. I'll keep watching though to see if the room rate drops (right now it's $279 before taxes) but I'm wondering if the ease of lunch provided and transportation makes the carnival excursion worthwhile?

The lunches at Atlantis are expensive, so I thought, in a way, it was worth it.

We took a cab there.... Negotiate the price, they will try and rip you off. I think it's 2-3 per person. We only took a cab because the bus and ferry lines were too long. The bus was very convenient on the way back.

Honestly the room deal may be the way to go. The hotel is directly across from the Atlantis. There are little places to eat authentic food around there as well... And cheaper than the Atlantis.

Cabs are $4 pp. We've never been ripped off.

Thanks for clarification on the cabs... I know though I did not pay more than $3 pp, we've never been ripped of either, but that's because I would not let them. Too many shady people there.... I have been there 6 times and each time it gets worse. It use to be a beautiful place with more honest people.

HI,

I booked the comfort suites rooms for my family. However I am traveling with a couple who did not. They want to buy directly from the Atlantis. If we are sharing a cab, should I ask the driver to wait for us at the comfort suites while we do the check in and then take us to Atlantis? I read that you still have to a desk at the Atlantis to get the wristbands.

Is is the same place where you buy the day passes for Atlantis? I am trying to maximize our time in the water park.

Thanks in advance.

It's not a far walk. I'd check in, give them time to purchase their passes, and pick a spot to meet up.
