Smokers: talk about your experience smoking and on which ship.

Sailed Pride and the smoking area has been redone with half still tables, the other half lounges and coffee tables I didn't find conducive to comfort at all. On one trip a large group would chair hog an entire section and tell you that's their family's seats. Oh, where are they? In port. Get real. Ash trays not cleaned often.

Smoking in the casino bar was usually doable if you could find an ash tray.

On Paradise there are 6 stools in the bar outside the casino and an area to stand. 6 stools?!?!? Bartenders were very nice knowing we probably weren't ordering drinks. On Lido you could usually share with someone. Ashtrays hardly ever cleaned but there was a receptacle available to bus yourself.

Both Pride and Paradise could use fans in the Lido area as it was so hot. To get a smoke inside you had to go to the casino as during the day neither ship had ashtrays in the nightclub.

I'm very interested in this, as we're traveling on the Dream in November with my parents (who both smoke) and since smoking has been restricted on the balconies I'm very concerned. They also neither one walk very well, so I don't want them to have a lot of issues with grabbing a smoke here and there.

Did you see a lot of people vape?

I would have sat my butt down and said "Looks like I'm family now." Then pulled out my cigs and smoked away.:p

Ha! It ended up with several smokers making sure they got that spot very early and kept it all day for at least 3 days. these people would walk by and glare! It was an excursion unto itself. I mean they took furniture from other areas and guarded it like pit bulls before others had enough.

The smoking area on the Breeze outside of the Red Frog was very nice. Comfy chairs, umbrellas, nice folks.

On the Ecstasy, there was a teeny area that was constantly jam packed and a total mess. The crew tried but could not keep up since the area was so tiny. Just miserable.

I Vape now, lowering nicotine to quit smoking, nearly a year since a regular cigarette, about 6 months till I think I'll be done vaping... so I'm a smoker according to Carnival... Anyway Lanai Port Side is smoking, Very nice umbrella chairs, Right outside a bar thats open some time, but a nice tip to the waiter that seemed to always patrol that area, and it was always nice and clean, except right before and after dinner, everyone came out there to smoke, and ashtrays filled quickly.

Also, since I vape, and gave up smoking, I noticed the smoke did get fairly thick, not complaining, just saying it made me really want to smoke again. T

hose in balconies right above the smoking deck had a cloud to deal with.

we were on the paradise in may. my gf smokes, i like to be part of the group, my dad smokes the occasional cigar. our daughter was a slide fanatic so we stayed on the lido. we were able to get a spot fairly easily but we were usually there by 11. we shared, and most others would share a light, a chair or a laugh. a lot of people vaping. we walked the decks at all hours. we saw a 50-something gentleman smoking a cigar and reading for about an hour or more one evening on the upper level overlooking lido and no one seemed to bother him. randomly we'd see people vaping in non-smoking areas, that's on them. i dont care but they should be considerate of others. also, i'm no K-9 but i couldnt help but think i smelled something a little funny  on a few late night walks on the top deck and again more than once in a few areas in the very back that didnt have many people. so i guess what i'm saying is the paradise was very smoker friendly.

I've been wondering what the smoking areas on the Miracle are like now. I don't smoke but my hubby does. He tried quitting a few months ago and made it 20 days. He may try again before our cruise but I'm not holding my breath! Haha!

Anyway, I expect he'll be wanting to find the smoking areas and I hope they are comfy because I will be joining him.

Also I've heard that the 2nd floor of the nightclub is smoking but I can't say that we've ever stepped foot in the nightclubs before. Anyone know if that's a good indoor spot? We'll spend lots of time in the casino but it would be nice to have other options.

Just sailed on the Pride a few weeks ago, 8/16. I believe smoking areas were casino bar, deck 3 aft, deck 10 forward and deck 9 by the forward pool. I'm not a smoker, but my dad is and husband occasionally.

I witnessed glares and indirect passive-aggressive comments from some smokers who were upset to see non-smokers sitting in any of the seats on deck 9. I understand smoking areas are scarce, but didn't think non-smokers were barred from using those seats. On a full ship, seating is tough on sea days.

Curious if other smokers feel slighted to see non-smokers sitting in a smoking area.

The last 3 cruises we have been on, smoking was still allowed on the balcony, so come next July, I won't be happy.:o:o

With that being said, the last 2 were on the Breeze.

Just one deck up From Lido in the "comfy" chairs when I needed one.

Everyone was very friendly.

We have another Lido balcony, so I can grab by coffee and head upstairs.

No biggie!

Also had an occasional smoke in the casino when playing the slots, but always made sure the person next to me was ok with it.:D

on the Miracle, inside smoking is limited to the casino and nightclub (only on the 2nd floor). Outside, deck 3 starboard, midship...deck 10, starboard, forward.....and deck 11, starboard.

Can you tell me how comfortable the outside areas on the Miracle are? Chairs, loungers, tables, bar service? Are you able to see what's going on on the Lido?

We were on the conquest last time and my DH smokes. the areas allowed were nice, a lot of seating and a good size area. DH didn't like everyone wanting to talk, he just wanted to smoke and go back to whatever he was doing, not a overly friendly soul, but he did admit the area provided was nice, unless it rains. Also, I had no problem being there with him as a non smoker.
