Embarkation start time for Princess?

We are sailing out of Barcelona Port on Thursday. The ship sails at 7 pm and our documents say check in starts at 1 pm. Can you check in earlier than that? Is it like the US ports where they will start check in around 11 am usually? Thank you!

As the ship arrives at Terminal D at 06:00 on Thursday and disembarkation should be finished by 10:00, the port baggage handlers will be able to start accepting checked luggage as early as 08:30 and the waiting area inside the security at the door will be open by 09:00.

 

The port agent staff will be on duty from 10:30 or earlier and depending on the ship they can start with check in from around 11:00. Passengers that have checked in can either be sent to a waiting area or allowed to board the ship and this is at the discretion of the ship's officers.

 

Some lines give very late boarding times in advance to avoid crowding in the morning hours.
