Missing a port (Catalina Island)

We leave on Sunday on the Imagination and was just looking at the weather and it is calling for rain on Monday. Since this is a tender port and if its raining I can imagine that we could possibly miss Catalina if the water is to rough to tender. Does anyone know if they could possibly port in San Diego for the day or will it just be an extra sea day?

Forecast is for a chance of rain. Which means you might get drizzle. Since Avalon is a sheltered harbor, it would have to be quite a storm for the ship to skip it. I'm sure you will be going there. If they skip it I highly doubt you will go to San Diego, never heard of that. You will just get another sea day. But plan for Catalina.

If they can anchor they will. Carnival is now using the old Catalina Ferries. Many times larger than the taxis. The ferries hold 270-399 pax, the taxis held 40 'very friendly' pax.

One time the seas were rough they let pax off the ship. If the ship's horn was blown you were told to get back to the tender.
