I wouldn't want to see them trying to lower lifeboats under those conditions. Stay with the ship because a ship that size is not going to capsize (except in a movie).

These pics bring back memories of being caught in hurricane Gloria....

 

20 years ago this week as a matter of fact....travelling home from Bermuda on the Home Lines Atlantic the captain decided to stay in port a couple hours later than scheduled and follow the storm up the east coast. The storm stalled and we had to go right through it to New York. Then we took Amtrak home to Boston and had to stop at every crossing and stop traffic because the elec was out all up and down the eastern seaboard. thank God it was not my first cruise cuz I am sure I would not have gotten on another ship after that experience.
