unccruzer Posted October 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2015 My wife gets a little seasick on cruises but gets well in a day. Do the Windstar cruise in the Scandinavian and Baltic areas rock significantly more than the usual cruise ships? Thanks
Hillskis Posted October 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2015 I know this is a cop out but it all depends on the weather. Last year we had smooth sailing but the year before they had gale force winds and rough seas. No cruise is without its possible bad weather. Under normal conditions the Wind Surf is a very stable ship.
Lvwindstar007 Posted October 24, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2015 All three sailing ships have stabilizers which help to control the motion in rough seas. Not sure but expect the new ships also would have stabilizers. They can't completely remove the effects of rough water. Everything depends on the weather and the location/path of the ship. Nothing like a destroyer in the north atlantic winter! CaptJack
M&PGermany Posted November 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2015 As the WS ships are significantly smaller than today's cruise ships normally are you WILL feel motion even in moderate seas. For me it's no problem but I saw quite a number of passengers with patches behind their ears ;)
SailorJM Posted November 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2015 Ginger crackers or ginger tabs are good, too. Seem to work fast: friend was seasick, took a ginger tab and was fine in less than 15 min.

Seem to work fast: friend was seasick, took a ginger tab and was fine in less than 15 min. I recently used the wrist bands for the first time and found that they, too, worked! This was on the Windsurf in fairly rough seas. I'll have to try the ginger sometime.
