Epic- disembarking

How long does it take to get off Epic at each port. Just wanting to know for meeting tours..

I am hoping not too long, as we sail on her Oct 25 out of Barcelona and have a plethora of excursion booked (not thru NCL).

 

When we booked the excursions, we had to list which ship we were on and what time it was scheduled to arrive in port. I assume the tour companies are adept at checking to see if the ship arrived and they understand that there are generally a large influx of passengers so they most likely take that into considerations.

 

Most of our excursions are slated to begin at 9AM (ship arrives in port @ 6 AM, and we were told debarking starts at 7 AM) Though I have never sailed on this ship.. so I will not know for sure until this sunday :)

If you are at a pier and they are able to get at least two large gangways deployed, you and 4000 of your closest friends should be off fairly quickly (actually only 2000 of your favorite friends will be rushing the gangway in arrival).

 

If it is a tender port using the ship's tenders, it has taken us up to an hour to get ashore (Grand Cayman last year).

It depends a little where you are cruising.

 

In the Med, as is the case for the second poster then for most ports it is very quick. As the ship docks unite early there is not quite the rush to disembark which you get with an arrival later in the day. There will be a lot of people wanting to get ashore to make their way to the cities, but many will still be in bed or getting ready.

 

In those ports you should be off fairly quickly.

 

Cannes is a tender port and they allocate spaces a few days before, so this is a little harder to predict. Just make sure you reserve your space early.

The details are in the freestyle daily. I've never bothered (bookings are only required for the first couple of hours and we haven't been in any rush).

 

From memory, they start the booking them a couple of days before (Rome day I think).

 

You just turn up for the return. No bookings.

Bookings are made like shows. At the box office, on you TV in your cabin, at any touch screens in public areas. A word of caution, a booking only guarantees you a time you can join the tender queue. It is not the time you will physically leave the ship. The queue may be 2 and 3 tenders long (meaning you could be waiting another 30 mins to get into a tender) plus the time to transit into the port. There are many people with "priority" that may jump the queue setting you back. This includes Havens guests, latitudes platinum members, casino vip players.

thanks- we will be going to Tangier,Morocco, dock at 7 am,Las Palmas 9 AM, Santa Cruz-7 AM, and Granada/Malaga at 11 AM... have a tour only planned in Morocco so far- been reading about the

Alhambraa place to go in Granada but sounds like it is very crowded....

If you are docked, you simply walk off when you're ready. Not everyone is in a huge rush to leave as soon as the doors open!

It's really only tender ports where it can take a bit longer to get onshore.

On the EPIC even with a queue it hasn't really taken more than 15-20 minutes to get off.
