NCL Jewel - Tsar's Palace Secret

We returned from our Jewel cruise which was great. Except for one night, we ate all our evening meals in the Tsar's Palace main dining room. This is an elegant, exquisitely styled dining room. However, some passengers have noted that it is quite noisy.

 

On our third night we were given a table in the Tsar's Palace "secret" room. This is a quiet area behind the main dining area. It seems to be closed off during the day and most people do not know about it. We found the service in the secret room to be outstanding. The room is long and narrow and not noisy like the main dining area. After our first dinner there, we requested the same table for the remaining nights. We enjoyed dining there very much.:)

When I was on Jewel Jersey cruise, they had that section open, it was used by a BBC film crew. Its a fair size too, about a third of the size of the main Tsar's dining room and its down the starboard side.

When you get to the entrance of Tsar's Palace ask for the "secret room". There are a number of tables there, I didn't count maybe 20 or so. The tables are of different sizes for any size party say two to ten people.

 

The host/hostess who meets you at the entrance will know what you are talking about as well as everyone who works in Tsar's Palace. One thing to note is that the tables for 8 had an upholstered bench on one side of the table seating two. We found the bench to be uncomfortable and asked the staff to replace the bench with chairs. They immediately did so and kept it that way for the rest of our cruise.

lots - it is on the deck plan. They show at least 15 tables in that area

Does the secret room have windows? Just wondered if you'd have a view in there.

We ate in this room on our cruise this past December, but I'd forgotten how quiet it was compared to the rest of the dining room! Thanks for reminding me!
