Pre-cruise Miami

Hello everyone. We are arriving to Miami 2 days before our cruise. We are 2 adults + 1 child (4 years). Where do you think we should look for an hotel? We've never been to Miami and would like to take a look around before embarking.

Stay in Miami Beach if you are flying into Miami. With bus service and Uber you do not need a rental car.

 

Stay in Fort Lauderdale if you are flying into FLL. You might need a rental car; http://www.sunny.org has lots of tourist and lodging info.

We are flying to Miami. So Miami Beach will be.

Any hotel? $200 a night should be our budget...

It all depends on the dates.

 

Take a look at some of the hotels on Ocean Drive, Collins Ave in South Beach.

 

We stayed at a boutique hotel on a more quiet part of Ocean Drive, Edgewater South Beach. With the beach across the street (hotel offers towels and even chairs I thought) and a Walgreens 24/7 convenience store around the block it will fulfill any needs with the kid. Rooms were quite large, including a kitchen area.

Edgewater would be slightly above the 400 budget. If they can accommodate a third in the room, the space is sufficient.

I think it depends on what you want to do.

I stayed at the Doubletree Sawgrass at my last visit.

the parking there is free and the rates we much cheaper the Miami Beach

Also you are 2 minutes from the Highway.

Just across a Shopping mall.

it was great to go to the Evergaldes on one day. I did some Shopping as well.

Also went to downtown Miami one day
